Silverline 794340 Rotary Tool Flexi Drive Sha ft 1070 mm

I don't understand why this doesn't have a higher rating. I bought a dremel and the flex cable attachment, but it was like 3 weeks for delivery. I ended up buying the silverline rotating tool and this attachment and both work great. For silverline the quality is decent, like it's not gonna fall apart when in use. My dremel ended up being delivered earlier and a nut cap that you need doesn't have threads so I can't use the flex attachment, but this silverline one fits on the dremel. Been using it for a few days now and I've had no problems. Can't fault the product really, and it only cost 10 quid. * Edit The cable also fits perfectly on my dremel and I actually prefer it to the dremel brand one. Hasn’t let me down so far, so well worth the money.

Strange to see so many haven't been able to fit this to their Silverline Rotary Tool, as it fits mine perfectly. Of course it took some trial and error, as the unit doesn't come with any instructions. It does take a while to fit, as you have to remove the collar, fit and tighten the end of the shaft, screw down the connector collar, but not before you've screwed the bit you want to use in to the far end of the flexible shaft, holding the locking nut with the spanner at the tool end. Phew! A little awkward to fit, especially without any instructions to help, otherwise it's a good item that works very well and adds a lot of potential to the rotary tool.

Fantastic bit of gear making it far easier to use all the bits I've tried with it so far. Using with a generic rotary tool, not specifically a Silverline but fits perfectly fine. Came with no instructions so took me a few change overs before I realised there is a small hole to insert something to make changing bits far easier. Would be nice if this was a button but for the cost it's fine and just means an extra few seconds finding something to jam in there (usually the end of whichever bit I'm about to use). Honestly this makes using a rotary tool feel much much nicer. You've no longer got the weight or bulk of the rotary making precision cuts more difficult and the shaft is very flexible with enough length to not be a hinder. You probably wouldn't need this if you're just using it as a cut off tool but I use mine for carving/sanding too and it's a huge help and would grab a replacement if this broke. I've not had to crank the speed on my rotary to full while using this yet so not sure how it'd handle that but it's been perfect so far and had no issues.

I purchased this to use with my silverline, hobby tool but does not fit despite some reviews say it will others say it will not, so I did some research and contacted silverline tools (which did not help to sort out this fitting issue) to try to find the reason why there are different feedback opinions. it comes down to this depending on where they were made (these are made for silverline tools not by silverline tools) there are differences in the thread pitch and diameter, i purchased this with the multipurpose cutting kit in the same order the cut fits no problem, but the flexi drive shaft, will not as it has a smaller diameter/ finer pitch thread, it is a good item and did fit an other mini drill I own but not the one it was bought for so a good tool, fast dispatch and a reasonable price, but I was disappointed at the same time, I hope this helps to clear up the inconsistent reviews

Great value and fitted to my dremal type thing fitted and worked perfectly started using it straight away in my honest opinion absolutely brilliant as it made it for more intricate cleaning work on the polishing of the brass instruments iam working on thank you very much indeed my brother has had a look and is buying the same and the stand Thant I’ve brought to fit to bench thank you Ian

What a piece of dangerous junk. After about 2 hours of use it would not clamp in the wood carving bits tight enough so the bits started flying out if it.

Have been using my old 2nd hand flex shaft for 2yrs until eventually it wore out. Replaced it with a competitor & it failed within 2mins. This one is well made robust & I'm now 2months in with regular daily use with no real problems. My only slight irritation is the hole where you insert a locking pin or tool bit to freeze the inner rotating shaft is not directly inline so have to wiggle it a bit every time you swap out a tool bit. It’s annoying as hell but given how robust & reliable the shaft is I’m happy to just mutter under my breath & curse the manufacturer every time I replace a bit. I mean it’s put up with me on a few occasions where the grinding tool has momentarily jammed due to operator error oops!!! 😬 (let’s face it…it happens) This causes the flex shaft to wind itself up like a constipated boa constrictor for a second & would kill off lesser drive shafts. But not this one…..yet!!

This is a great little tool and works flawlessly. I have dropped one star for the simple reason is that I had to put a little electrical tape over the threads on the Silverline rotary tool that I had previously purchased some time ago to be able to use this add on. As some other reviewers have mentioned, this tool doesn't always fit the threads (depending on which rotary tool you have). Something I think Silverline has to address. But for the price paid, you cant complain as it only takes a minute to sort out.

El único inconveniente es que se necesita bloquear el mandril con la llave allen u otro útil para cambiar la herramienta en el extremo de uso, existen otros productos similares mucho mas caros que incorporan un dispositivo de bloqueo automático. - por lo demás funciona bien, se adapta a la rosca de las herramientas universales y queda bien sujeta. - rotación precisa y silenciosa (conviene introducir aceite de parafina antes del primer uso, retirando por completo el eje interno flexible). Si no se dispone de aceite de parafina puede usarse de oliva, pero nunca girasol ya que suele cristalizar. Recomendable y fácil de encontrar es el de máquina de coser. - longitud adecuada y buen acabado.

L'ho comprato un anno fa, ma usato solo recentemente e per un solo lavoretto, per cui scrivo ora qualcosa. Niente male, il cordino fa onestamente il suo lavoro e permette di operare in situazioni più anguste e proibitive per il minitrapano. Possiedo un apparecchio di marca e fattura economica, ma l'attacco standard del Silverline si adatta a meraviglia e assicura corretta operatività. Dalla parte degli utensili il fissaggio è parimenti funzionale, basta usare il ferretto a L in dotazione che va inserito nell'apposito foro del mandrino per stringere l'utensile. Il cordino girevole all'interno della guaina si sfila completamente, attenzione a non perderlo per strada nelle varie operazioni, una volta caduto nello sporco e nella polvere va pulito immediatamente e magari ingrassato un poco. Per il resto a me finora ha fatto il servizio che volevo in maniera onorevole, quindi merita le sue cinque stelle, e per quanto riguarda durata ed affidabilità sarà il tempo a decretarlo, ed eventualmente ritoccherò il numero di stelle.

J'ai acheté ce produit pour remplacer le mien qui avait cassé sur une marque générique. Le remplacement a été très facile et le produit est fonctionnel 👍

Ich benutze die Welle als Austausch Welle für eine Billig-Dremel Imitation. Die Billig-Imitation hatte eine Führungshülse welche einige 1/10mm Spiel hatte, was prezieses Arbeiten unmöglich machte. Diese Silverline-Welle hingegen arbeitet prezise.

J'ai bien reçu cette après midi le flexible avec les petits outils de montage et serrage du mandrin. bien qu'il ne soit pas tout à fait adapté a mon matériel j'ai l'installé sans problème. Un bon outil à un prix modeste, suis satisfait de mon achat et de la rapidité de la livraison, ce qui devient rare sur ce site!
