I was doubtful how this would work but changed my posture to better from the first seconds. Construction allows just the right amount of movement but it stays in the same position. Highly recommended, goodbye back pain!

This had eliminated almost immediately my very lower back ache I get when sitting in my computer chair. The chair itself off Amazon is extremely comfort but this item makes it less voluminous and I can relax into the back rest instead of perching on the edge or relying on a pillow or cushion to fill the gap. This is extremely comfortable and I can't rate it highly enough. I don't know what this firm's other versions are like but right now this is spot on and I have no regrets at all!

Very good for supporting my back while working from home. I have only given it 4 stars as I can't get it to fit my Ikea chair perfectly as the headrest support gets in the way! However, this isn't a problem with the back support, and apart from this it works very well!

I have been doing call centre work for 11-12 years now, since age 26, and my back is basically wrecked. I can't bend properly, if I get on the floor it takes forever for me to get back up or I have to make sure I can hold onto something to support me properly. It aches all the time, and I get regular neck and shoulder pain as well. I also get regular muscle spasms in my lower back from things like twisting, turning or bending. My previous employer of 10 years got me a fully adjustable orthopedic chair that helped me fully manage my posture, I used it for about 3 years and it was great, sadly I had to leave them and couldn't bring the chair with me. My current employer for the last 10 months is "a bit uninterested" in getting me a better chair than their broken, cheap, probably second hand chairs, and my back problem has worsened from being a permanent discomfort, to almost crippling, pain killers don't even make a difference any more. This back rest helps me quite a lot and fits our chairs perfectly. I purchased it around 6 weeks ago and have no complaints. It's comfortable and well made.

I have an Aeron chair, which still doesn't give me very good lower back support (never mind the sales pitch I got that they said it would) and after sitting for a few hours my lower back starts to feel it. I had previously purchased the mesh back type support, which was ok (and very cheap) but when the elastic gave out on the part which holds the support to the chair I thought I'd risk trying this padded version. I only got it as there was a second hand one (as new) for sale at half the price of a new one. The full asking price is very high to take a punt on. Anyway, I am very glad I did purchase it. I find it more comfortable than the mesh type support. The straps holding the pads to the chair are a lot better than a piece of elastic (so they should be for the price) and should be long enough and adjustable enough for any office chair. The three pads hit all the right spots for me.

Fortunately, someone had taken the trouble to provide a very useful review of this product. This tipped the balance in favour of buying the product. I have not been disappointed! The support is made from quality materials and is not only comfortable but provides that all important support for the lower back. In truth my current leather chair is a little like its owner. It is knackered! At least with the chair I can buy a new one but in the meantime this back rest is brilliant. As and when I get a new chair the back rest can be transferred to the new chair. This back rest may seem expensive compared to others on the market but at least it is cheaper than a visit to the osteopath and it should last a long time.

I am guessing the positive reviews means that the effectiveness depends on the type of chair one has. Having used in two locations, two different chairs, I find this an unhelpful support. Having chronic lower back problems, I was hoping this would be an easy fix. Not the case. Despite having the three way connection, it does not stay in the position needed. In addition, by affixing to the back of your chair, it reduces upper back support, which can lead to shoulder and neck ache. I discussed the use of it with my physio, and she advised strongly against using it, so I have now thrown it away.

Negative: This product contains Zinc Pyrithione .... had I known this I would not have ordered it. There was a strong chemical smell to the product (and to the air in my study, due to it !) - whether this was from the Zinc Pyrithione or another chemical/material, used in the product, I do not know. Positive: The shape, adaptability and comfort of the back support seem great - I liked that one can adjust the position of the lumbar support and also whether to use the other sections of padding (great idea having removeable sections). Fellowes....please make one free of such chemicals....
