German Made Easy Level 1: An Easy Step-By-Step Approach To Learn German for Beginners (Textbook + Workbook Included)

This book is a good introduction to the wondrous German Grammar Puzzle. It discusses all the basics to get you up to speed for basic German, and beyond. It does tackle a bit more. I like that it introduces each section in German, but has an English translation. I can't wait for a follow-on book. The vocabulary does have the gender of each noun, something of great importance, if you what to use any of the 12 "the" in German. Don't worry about plural, that is all "DIE". For verbs in the Wortschatz, I would have enjoyed the verb conjugated, third person, present, simple past and past participle, just to get a feel for that verb. All in all, almost 200 pages of viel Spaß.

This book is very helpful for beginners starting to learn German. The lessons are straightforward and divided into sections and chapters that are easy to follow. My vocabulary and grammar are improving every time I use this book. I highly recommend. Vielen Dank!

Fantastic! Lots of helpful exercises, detailed explanations, and dialogue/audio that isn't boring! It starts out gently with basics like the alphabet, pronunciation, and the tricky gender rules — stuff many courses gloss over. Lessons are laid out in a logical order, with grammar, vocabulary, and practice exercises interwoven. The inclusion of exercises in different formats (filling blanks, dialogues, etc.) and frequent practice sections reinforces retention. I am a hands-on learner, so actually writing things down was perfect for me. Additionally, I appreciated that it doesn’t just teach grammar and words — there are cultural tidbits, German sayings, and realistic dialogs (ordering food, small talk, etc.).

Unless it's a two in one type of thing, I didn't receive a textbook with this order, like a previous review already stated.

I purchased German Made Easy Level I six months ago. I am now almost halfway through the lessons. One excellent aspect of the book is the realism and utility of the dialogue stories. The themes of the dialogues are practical. They include everything from introducing yourself to others, running errands, and shopping/eating out. Another positive aspect of the book is that the explanations, whether about plural forms, verb usage, or syntax are well written and detailed. Finally, I enjoy reviewing previously completed sections when I have been away from the book for a period of time. As with all endeavors, the benefits derived are commensurate with the level of effort invested!

It is a very good resource to learn German. For me German was not as intuitive as Spanish, French or Italian so German Made Easy helped that transition quite a bit. The book also was very helpful with the different parts of speech (i.e., nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.). There is a lot of useful and helpful material if you are diligent in your study habits.

Purchased as gift. She loved the book.

I really like this introduction to German. It’s set out beautifully with lots of extra information around the language and not just vocabulary and grammar lessons. The chapters are straightforward and progress in difficulty as you move through the book. I’m still at beginner stage but enjoying this no pressure approach to learning at my own pace.

German Made Easy is a great beginner-friendly book with clear explanations and simple exercises. It makes German grammar less intimidating and builds confidence step by step. I just wish it had more varied practice and audio support, but overall, it’s a solid starting point for learning German.

The book is good. But price is seems to be a bit high.
