Queen 3D [May, Brian] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Queen 3D Review: A Fantastic Time Capsule into the Legendary Band Queen! - This "Queen in 3-D" book is amazing! For a fan of these 4 tremendously talented musicians, it is like Brian May has given us a glimpse through an open window or a time capsule showing us bits of their lives through remembrances of day to day activities beginning from the '70s to now, and through his wonderful stereoscopic photos. Before opening anything, I went to an online video of him opening a brand new copy of this book. From the wonderful new book smell to opening and using the owl viewer, he thoroughly explained everything. The book itself is heavy and is bound beautifully, and this includes the slip-cased how-to manual, which explains the use of the 3-D viewer. At the beginning of the book, Brian mentions not to attempt to look at the 2 flat photos cross-eyed before using the viewer because it wouldn't work. So I practiced visualizing the 2 pictures into 1 phenomenon. And after a little trial and error, suddenly I could see the 3-D effect. But the pictures were small and I had to use my reading glasses. But when i used the viewer, I immediately was able to see these pictures not only in 3-D, but without glasses and they were clearer, sharper, and much larger. Besides these special photos, there are so many other pictures of Freddie, Brian, Rodger and John with a multitude of other surprising pictures. And to Dr. May, I want to say a special thank you. I feel like you have given me a treasure that I will cherish forever. Not just the book itself, but the glimpse you gave into some of your fondest memories, the people you most care about, and of course, always, your music. Review: The experience of going through the intimate images in 3D with Brian's memories in print is breathtaking! - I've been a fan of the band Queen since the early 1970s and knew Brian May had brilliantly conceived of and built his own guitar The Red Special--a one-of-a-kind guitar capable of making sounds no other guitar can. I've been impressed that he went back to university and got doctorate in astrophysics, but when I learned he'd created an inexpensive stereoscopic viewer called The Owl, I couldn't believe it. Then to hear Brian May has been taking stereoscopic 3D photos since childhood and he has TONS of 3D stereoscope image of Queens unguarded moments... I had to have it! In an age of shoddy craftsmanship, this box is impressive, the hard cover book is gorgeous, the Victorian sleeve for The Owl viewer is impressive, but the experience of going through the intimate images in 3D with Brian's memories in print is breathtaking! So young, so talented, and to see John with his camera (very nice) and Freddie with his Polaroid (very instant) and be on tour with them with images you want to put your hand into...well done Dr. Brian May! Thank you for going to all the trouble and clearly sparing no expense with the quality! Note: I have had Lasik on one eye, so I don't see in stereo (1 for distance, 1 for reading) so I was afraid I wouldn't be able to see with The Owl, but all I have to do is lift my face away from it a bit and Poof! Magic!

Best Purchase!
Absolutely positively loved the book! I had questioned whether or not I wanted to get it for a long time. I really wondered if it was worth it, and then I finally decided to purchase it and well, it was the best way to spend my money! I love the collection of rare photos and the stereoscopics are just astounding! They turned out really well. I've also loved reading all that Brian has written, I really felt a sense of closeness. I quite enjoyed also reading his beginning story on how he got into stereoscopy, that really resonated with me and the beginnings of things I came to find a passion for as a kid. This book is definitely worth the money, I love sharing it with just about everyone I can--I've even managed to get a few quite interested in stereoscopy, ha ha (and Queen of course!).

If you are a fan, you'll enjoy this book!
If you are a fan of Queen, I think you'll really enjoy this book. There are many books about Queen, but three things set this one apart. One, it's written by Brian May himself so you can trust the authenticity of its content. Two, the photos are from Brian's own personal archive and a majority of them were never seen before. And three, most of the photos are stereoscopic images, meaning you can view them in 3-D with the OWL Viewer that comes with the book. I'm a huge fan of Queen and I genuinely enjoyed experiencing this book. The photos were either taken by Brian himself or someone close to the band, so you get a real close look at some fun moments. Check it out!

Dr. Brian May's Labor Of Love
This is an incredible addition to your Queen memorabilia, all you loyal Queen fans ~ and well worth the price! I own lots and LOTS of Queen books and magazines and was astonished to realize nearly every picture in this magnificent book was new to me. They span Brian's childhood to present day. Brian spent two years putting this book together and the result is a shining example of the legend's brilliance. The fact that he wrote the entire book was one of the reasons I knew I had to have it. The 3-D viewer aids in enjoying the brilliant, stereoscopic photographs from his private collection. A must for every true Queen fan.

Arrived faster than expected, love this book.
This book arrived in Indonesia faster than expected before. I'm really happy. It had taken only 6 days since I ordered it. I love this book very much. It has story and also a lot of 3D photos from Brian May who write and capturing it by his own, without ghost writer. Really enjoy. I read it like someone tell all stories directly. I guess this book will be a great resources for next generation, who interested in Queen and their music. Thank you Amazon

Interesting book but 3D is iffy
This is a nice collector book but I don’t get the 3-D effect at all despite trying to use the yellow glasses that came with it.

Love it, simply love it. I suppose I'm a nerd, but after reading the prelims about how Brian got started in 3D photography, I immediately tried making my own 3D photos and was surprised at how easy it is, and amazed at the results. The viewer is sized just right for an iPad in portrait mode, so you can easily take a couple slightly offset photos, put them together in Photoshop, and view on the iPad. But I digress. The Queen photos (and also the non-Queen photos) are so much fun, and the text is personal, chatty, and enjoyable. Grab a copy if you are a Queen fan, and/or if you are technically inclined.

The Book comes in a great box. And who doesn't know anything about the book will think that all the 3D is rendered like on the cover (where you have to move left/right to get the 3D effect). The book comes with the 3D glasses which are easily assembled with a bit of care. I don't want to spoil the book so I will just say, well worth the money as you get to know about Queen, see them "as if you were there" and you learn about stereo photography.

Spedizione Amazon, come sempre, veloce.

Queen is a legendary band. Guitarist Brian May continues to support the legends in his unique manner with this stereoscopic history!
