Love this book for teaching English and great for basic / absolute beginner learners! Even though it's geared towards American English I am using for British English. Clear concise layout with good exercises. Using this book along with the workbook allows for lots of practice for students.

I've tried several different kinds of ESL books and this is my favorite for me and my students. Its very clear, organized and easy to follow. The picutures are drawings, but not juvenile or cartoonish. Good diversification of use of macro skills.

I really like this book, especially because the student book has lots of pictures and not too much text to overwhelm students. The workbooks at the basic and literacy levels that go with it allow me to teach a multi-level class without creating separate lesson plans. I liked the multilevel book from Ventures, too.

I love the book. Real language, lots of interactive/listening/grammar exercises, CASAS oriented. I highly recommend it for ESL teachers/students.
