EDITED TO ADD: Verilux customer service is terrific! They reached out to follow up—but I had already reached out to Scott, one of their team members, and he had things in motion. Long story short: They've sent me a replacement lamp and made things super easy. Verilux = Happy Lights + Happy CustomersComplete waste of money. I have brighter nightlights. It says there are five illuminences for each of the three settings. There are not. There are only two. And one must necessarily pound the arrow buttons up and down just to get any increase or decrease in said illumination. I have walked through the troubleshooting. Watched additional videos. And downloaded the user guide. No help. I would return it but the trash collector already took away the box. (Today, the sanitation dept decides to come on time. 🙄) I'm planning to call Verilux customer service on Monday and will update as needed.

Best professional packaging I have encountered in years. Light itself works beautifullyfor those people who have trouble tightening the base screw:I am 77 and have lost some muscle strength etc.with a short handle hex key, like the one supplied, all you have to do is use LEVERAGE...put any type of object you kind find to help you: e.g short piece of pipe, box end wrench, even a vise grip...any way the product works perfectly...

One of my hobbies is doing large diamond painting scenes, and the other is working 2000 piece puzzles. I need good lighting for both. I had 1 lamp and was carrying it from one project to the other. I recently ordered my second lamp. It arrived promptly and now I have excellent lighting for both of my hobbies. This lamp is great for any close work where you need brighter lighting. It has several setting and can be adjusted for different angles.

My wife uses this light for sewing and she likes it very much. Works well and very bright. We would buy it again and recommend it if you need a lot of focused light.

I needed a bright light for my reading chair. This lamp was highly rated. It does provide really strong light and is easy to turn on and off and adjust. (I don't need a remote to turn on a lamp I only use when I'm sitting next to it, so I don't mind that it doesn't have one).That said, a few things I don't like about it:1) It's ugly, with the "visual appeal" of a medical device you'd find in a hospital ward or nursing home.2) It's short! I am 5'6" and when I extend this to its max height there's only about 4 inches above my head. Not sure it would work for anyone over 6 feet. For some reason I thought it was extendable, but it's not.3) It didn't fit together well. Despite 4 tries, the top section won't screw straight into the section below. You can see the threads a bit and it's angled funny. Also, I couldn't get the bottom to screw into the base, so I have to get down on the floor if I want to move it and move it from the base. Not thrilled with this, but also didn't want to disassemble it and try to fit it back into the box to return or exchange.I'm keeping the lamp because the functionality is good, but it isn't something you'd want to put in a public area of your home.

Love the 3 levels of bright and 2 color shades. The touch on off switch is nice but turns on with an accidental brush can be bothersome.

Provides enough light near my chair and easy to use.

Love this lamp. Exactly what I was wanting. Works great right next to my chair for close up needle work.
