On all of these listing's the most common review was broken clips, but i chanced it with the best reviewed ones I could find and they are all perfect, personally had no broken clips. Just remember max length is 100cm so won't go across whole bed. They actually work great and sturdy, lifesaver honestly stopped the most annoying problem

These really could do either being longer. Very tight fit across the width of a single mattress. I didn't want them to go across the corner of a sheet as mattress fits into bed frame and that would probably make them ping off!

8 straps supplied - sadly, one of the clips broke on first use, leaving me with 7 straps. I'm fairly adept with a pair of pliers, so I popped it all back together (there are essentially 3 parts to the lever/clip and they just snap together), but the metal is pretty thin, so once it's been bent out of line, it's never going to be the same (see photo with arrow). Shortest, unstretched length is 28cm Longest unstretched length is 54cm Instructions say not to exceed 100cm - It'll put too much pressure on the metal component, and if the clip lets go of the other side of the sheet at the wrong moment, you're going to get a high speed smack in the face from a metal clip! My eye is fine now, and the bruising has subsided. As long as you don't assume these have a similar grip to a Staffie with a stick in it's mouth, and you don't subject them to the same abuse as your brother did to your new Stretch Armstrong, you'll be fine.
