Turns your phone into a handheld console!
What a great controller. Fits to the phone easy and holds solidly in place. I got this mainly to play emulators on my Samsung S20Fe. Setup is a breeze, you just plug it in and it's works straight away. I've been using it to play 8,16 and 32 bit emulators via RetroArch. Very little configuration is needed. Controller and buttons feel solid and not cheap. Also tested on Xbox Cloud gaming and it worked fine. Note that the buttons are the Nintendo Switch layout (A is where B is, and X where Y is on an Xbox controller). Highly recommended!

A good accessory for gaming on the go, with a few limitations.
This controller has turned my phone into a great mobile gaming platform. TLDR: + Compact, well-made and convenient. - Maybe a bit TOO small, with a couple of annoying features: The screenshot button and hardware turbo. Before I bought the X2, gaming on my phone was limited to casual word games and, occasionally, games like Mario Kart Tour. At home, I have a desktop machine, a PS5 and a couple of Switches to satisfy my gaming urge. When I got a new job that requires some travel, I initially thought I'd commandeer one of the Switches from my kids for playing on the bus. Keeping the Switch proved more difficult than anticipated, however, and it soon ended up back in its cradle - my kids took their Switch back! As I don't need graphically intensive games (I found myself playing the Switch's virtual console titles far more than modern 3D games), I decided to let my kids keep their Switches and invest in a controller for my phone. I decided to install RetroArch and emulate my retro collection. I haven't used it for game streaming, either across my local network or through GeForce Now and similar commercial platforms, so shan't comment on these. The hardware on the X2 is great for emulation, with two analogue thumbsticks as well as a D-pad, four face buttons and four shoulder buttons, meaning that it can handle pretty much any game. It draws its power over the Type-C interface from the phone, so it does not require a battery and does not use a Bluetooth connection. This helps keeps things light. However, it is not flimsy. Indeed, I would say it's well-built - it would require effort, or a serious drop to break it. The spring mechanism combines with rubber strips on either end of the clamp. With the considerable tension in the spring, it holds the phone firmly enough that it won't slip out accidentally. There is a Type-C female connector on the bottom left of the controller, which can charge the controller itself and also pass charge through to the phone. However, the passthough has a lower power rating than my phone, meaning that it does not charge it at the full 25W. I can live with this, as it is simple enough to remove the phone and connect it directly to power if I need fast charging. With regard to what I like about the controller, it is responsive, with a positive click in the buttons, while the D-pad is firm (on some controllers they can feel spongy, which I personally dislike.) The shoulder buttons use microswitches. There is a dedicated screenshot button close to the D-pad. The controller has a hardware turbo function, which I do not use. It is also a seemingly undocumented feature (more on this later.) The analogue sticks work well - I have experienced no drift or other issues using them. In terms of negatives, the controller is small, which can make it feel fiddly at first. The thumbsticks are about the same size as those on the Switch. The D-pad is similarly diminutive. This can cause some issues with fighting games, where input combinations are really important. I find it is taking me longer than I would like to adapt to the size of the movement controls. Similarly, the controller is only a few millimetres taller than the width my S22 FE. This reduces the space available for grasping the controller while you play. On top of this, the compact surface area for the inputs means that it is easy to activate the right analogue stick when pressing the B (down) button. The screenshot button is very close to the D-pad, and - even though I don't have large hands - I have found that I often inadvertently take screenshots when crouch-blocking in, say, Street Fighter 2. This also pauses the game, so at least you get a warning that you're spamming your phone storage with meaningless screenshots! I have begun to get used to the size of the X2, but it has entailed changing my grip style. Althought the controller is compact (a positive when it's something *else* to put in your bag every morning), there have been several occasions where I have wanted the ergonomic grip extensions found on PS5/Xbox-style controllers, both for the comfort and the extra control they offer - chaining dragon punches together is harder than it used to be, for me at least. To return to the hardware turbo function, it seems to be undocumented. It is also easy to trigger inadvertently if you press the G button (to the top-right of the left analogue stick) too soon after pressing another. It can be cancelled by pressing the G button twice in quick succession. However, I had to Google for this information, finding it in a customer's Reddit post. The button cannot, seemingly, be remapped, which is annoying. I'll be happy to find out that I am wrong if anyone knows otherwise. Reading the review back, it comes across as quite negative. This is far from the truth - I actually rather like the X2 Type-C. However, it is not without its flaws, and I think it important to report them from my experience.

Works perfectly
Great software and super simple to use. Buttons and triggers feel nice and the analogue sticks are great for everything apart from FPS games (A little small). Turn an old phone into a streaming and emulation beast!

The app keeps crashing on the Samsung Fold 5
The app keeps crashing which renders it useless. The controller feels like good quality, it's a pity the app needed to use the controller isn't any good.

Must have for gaming on android
I bought this with the intention of using it with retroarch, praying that it didn't suck. Well my prayers were answered. This is hands down one of the best purchases I've made in ages. Worth every penny. Is it perfect? No. There are a few things I would like to see in the next version: move the right stick slightly to the left so the buttons are easier to reach without interference, make the buttons slightly bigger all round, add a manual open locking mechanism to take the phone in and out easier, add a swapable pad for the right side so phones like mine (s20 note ultra) with poorly thought out camera design can be padded easier (I used stickable felt to offset the camera) are a few such examples. However, none of this stops me from loving this thing, it is brilliant, great work gamesir team! I look forward to the next version!

Could not be happier!
Bought this specifically for my Galaxy Z Fold 5, since it has a USB C connection on the LEFT, where most of the others have it on the right. The reason this makes a difference with the fold phones is that it means the overhang of phone screen is at the top, rather than the bottom, which I vastly prefer. It will fit with a very thin phone case on too, which is a bonus since I didn’t want to have to take my phone case off to use this. The USB C connector on the controller is also slightly flexible and not rigid, making it much easier to get your phone in and out of the grip. The thumb sticks are great, the buttons are clicky and responsive (the d-pad isn’t mushy, it’s clicky too, which I love). The shoulder buttons are buttons - all four of them. None of them are analog, which might bother some people who play racing games that rely on triggers like those of the Xbox and PS controllers. For the kinds of games I play, this is a non-issue. The carrying case is a great inclusion and it even comes with some thumb stick caps, since they’re smaller than a home console controller’s. I took one off for the photos to show what they look like without thumb caps on. My only tiny petty little issue is that the connection light (when it’s plugged into your phone) is a a really bright solid blue that annoys me when I’m in a dimly-lit room, but I just stuck a little sticker over it and it’s fine now.

Obviously, it's from Gamesir and we can expect the quality.. It perfectly fits my S25 ultra, and the in-hand feel is good. It doesn't feel small in my hands; the product is exactly the same width as the S25 ultra. In the product page, it's mentioned as x2, but the product that we receive will be x2s, which is the newer version with hall effect triggers and a joystick. The bypass charging port supports fast charging in my S25 Ultra.

So just to name the cons first: It (barely) fits my Samsung Galaxy s20 FE 5G which is a 6.5" phone. So bigger devices need not apply. Expect to smash buttons installing your phone in it, there's almost no way to slide it open and not hit the R triggers. They give you spare rubber tips for the joysticks for a reason, expect them to fall off. Go ahead and buy an easy to remove case. No way will it work with a case. Now to the Pros!: These buttons feel AMAZING. Triggers feel like the same switches in some of my more expensive gaming mice. So satisfyingly clicky. Works right out of the box, the type C version requires no software and I love it. Works with citra, drastic, and GBA emulators. Haven't tried with others yet but it seems to use existing xinput drivers inside android so I'd expect it to work for everything. Doesn't consume much power at all! There is 0 lag, it feels so fluid to use that honestly I'm reliving Pokemon games with the same joy as I didn't a decade ago. Great travel case included! Overall I'm so pleased with this controller, and for the money it's worth every penny. Plan to try to use a Type C coupler and run it to my PC (I mean if it uses xinput it should work) for when I play citra there.

tl,dr: buy it unless you're a racing gamer. Sadly my controller arrived with a slightly defect left joystick, it records all imputs, but when pressing downwards it doesn't move smoothly and makes clicking sounds. I hope the seller will send me a spare red joystick so I can repair it without having to send this awesome controller to the trash (amazon return shenanigans) will update once seller responded. Otherwise Im very happy with the controller wild rift and pubg mobile both run super smooth,, except there is no way to simulate the finger slide which you need for sprint in pubg and ability canceling in wild rift. Now to the item quality: Very good plastics, the rubber handles sit well in hand and even with my big phone everything sits securely and doesnt rattle, once the phone is in the right position. There is still space for air circulation behind my phone which is great. All the buttons feel like a real controller with a satisfying mechanical keyboard like click (unlike my left joystick) A contra would be for racing gamers since the l2 and r2 buttons are not analog, so steppless acceleration is impossible,if you want to play racing games, go for the razer kishi instead. For shooter, mmo and moba players on the other hand this feels perfect. A responsive clean click every shot/ability. Charging while playing is possible with my xiaomi 11 lite 5g, but apparently might not work with certain phones. There are concave and convex joystick rubbers included in the set, so you can adapt to your preferences, i find them easy to apply by just pushing them on top. The kit gets completed by a very high quality case with protective shells inside so you can savely transport your gamesir. The app included lets you easily set up your keys, once you get the hang of it. Try it out in a practice round. Also make sure you make the buttons of the game you play bigger than the ones you put above via keymapping, since the app automatically simulates a real finger, by pressing random spaces around the selected button instead of always the exact same space, to prevent detection and bans by the automated systems. If you're used to the xbox layout you can change between switch and xbox setting in the app. Compared to the kishi (except for racing) i say this is a clear winner. Extra: the c plug is flexible which eases the input of the phone and prevents damage to your phones c port as well as the c plug itself.
