Steiner Military/Marine 8x30 Binocular

These things are worth every penny. Chrystal clear image and very good color without much in the way of chromatic aberration. The “Auto Focus” is a bit of a misnomer as you do have to manually adjust the focus on each eye, but this allows you to set them to different focal depths and not need to mess with them much within that range of distances. It sort of tricks your brain into making the image mostly in focus within the set ranges. It’s very intuitive and easy to set on the fly. The objective lease covers seal very securely but you won’t have to wrestle them loose, and they’re captive so you can just pop them loose and they’ll hang on to the binoculars out of the way without interfering with your view. Rear caps are one piece and not the most secure, but that can be remedied with a ranger band or elastic hair tie across the bridge and they’ll be fine. Comes with a pretty awesome desert camo padded soft case and tan neck strap as well. Overall 10/10 they feel rugged and well made. Super functional and you won’t feel like you are at a loss of value.

I upgraded my gear from a Nikon 9X25CF and bought the Steiner 8X30 Military-Marine. I needed binoculars that could focus on fast moving objects without constantly having to adjust the center-focus-wheel. I am impressed with the auto-focus feature which works great from 20yard to infinity. If you're trying to observe objects that are closer than 20 yards, then these binoculars are not for you. The optics are bright and clear over the entire field of view. I take them out for hunting, camping, boating, hiking, target shooting, beach and travel. Built to military specs, they are tough and excellent in all environments and climates. There is plenty of eye-relief and the cups roll back to accommodate those who wear glasses. You get what you pay for. Highly recommend.

We used these binoculars in the Marine Corps and after I got out as a park ranger. I just needed a small, compact binocular that can see for a mile easily day or night. Even at night looking at the stars the brightness is incredible. Tracking satellites overhead is fun.

I bought these to replace an older pair if cheaper binos. My experience with Steiner optics came from using them in the Army. They are well built and for the cost they work very well, however they are not MILSPEC. With that said, the image quality is very good, they gather light well in lowlight conditions, however when a another light source enters the field of view, such as an aircraft or a set of car headlights, the distortion created blurs the field of vision badly. My actual MILSPEC Steiner's don't have that happen. And my Kowa's, Vortex's and Swarovski's don't do that either, but in the light of day they are very, very good.

8x30 Had one for about 40 years and loved it. Was good till it fell and broke the front ocular off on one side. No I replaced it with a new one here and can‘t hold back my joy. Had to write this review. As a surprise, it came with a little carrying bag in camouflage design. Since it is new it is much clearer than my old one. Brilliant. I‘m sure it will be with me for a nother 40🙄. Totally recommend these Steiner Glasses.

These Binoculars are the first pair I've purchased personally. I liked them so much I bought the 10x50 also. They are built to take a beating and have crystal clear glass and a good ergonomics. I would buy them again if I lost the pairs I have..

For those looking for a mid-size porro prism binocular, this one is for you. Although it is classified as a military marine binocular it can be used for general purposes. Stylish and very well made. Easy to carry around because of its light weight and to further add to its credential, it has fixed focus lens which mean that you just have to focus once on the left and right diopters and you are good to go. Its clarity and brightness is amazing. Although it will hurt your pocket a bit, wait for the price to drop and then snatch it.

Sharp image and good colour

ミリタリーマニアですが憧れのシュタイナーを手に出来て大満足です。以前はT社の軍事用モデルを長年使用していました。それも良く見えるのですがやっぱりこれは良いです。以前は大変高価でしたがセカンドエディションの登場で少し安く買えるようです。性能は視野も広く明るく良く見えますし文句は無いです。独特な形状のボディも頼もしくガッチリしてますが見た目に反して軽量です。デザートパターンの可愛いファスナーケースが付いているのも御愛嬌です。 持って出掛けたくなりますよ。迷ってる方は是非。

Obwohl es mein günstigstes Glas von Steiner ist, ist es sofort zu meinem Liebling geworden. Das Gewicht ist prima und die breite Bauweise machen es enorm handlich und einfach führig. Zudem hat man durch die Art zu greifen eine enorme Bildruhe. Die Qualität ist ebenfalls prima, vor allem im Angesicht des Preises gibt es hier gar nichts zu meckern. Auch mag ich die Lösung mit dem festen Fokus, das es einfach enorm praktisch ist. Einmal auf die Augen eingestellt, bedarf es keiner weiteren Einstellungen mehr - man greift sich das Glas und fertig. Wirklich ein tolles Glas und aus der Serie werde ich mir sicher noch ein größeres holen! OutdoorMinimalist.net
