A Perfect Summer Prep Book for Kids!
This book has been a great way to keep my child learning during the summer without feeling overwhelmed. It’s under 150 pages, so it’s not intimidating, and the layout makes it easy to do just one page a day. Each page introduces a new short story with comprehension questions. The short daily stories fit perfectly into our summer routine, and my child enjoys the variety. It’s also a great way for me to see what they’ll be learning next year. If you’re looking for a simple, effective way to keep your child’s mind sharp and ready for the next school year, this book is a fantastic choice. I highly recommend it for summer break or even as a refresher during the school year.- I liked it so much I purchased a math book as well.

I purchased the Spectrum Reading Comprehension Grade 3 Workbook for my 8-year-old to help strengthen their reading and comprehension skills, and it has been a fantastic resource! The book is well-organized with a variety of fiction and nonfiction passages that keep my child engaged while learning. ✔ Engaging Content – The passages are interesting and age-appropriate, covering different topics that hold my child’s attention. ✔ Skill-Building Exercises – Each section focuses on key reading skills like identifying the main idea, story structure, and supporting details. ✔ Clear Instructions – The directions are easy to follow, allowing my child to work independently with minimal help. ✔ Great for Practice & Review – The questions after each passage reinforce comprehension and critical thinking. ✔ 160 Pages of Quality Material – Plenty of exercises to last through the school year or summer learning. This workbook has been a great supplement to my child’s schoolwork, and I’ve already noticed an improvement in their reading comprehension. Fantastic for Reading Comprehension
We purchased this for my 3rd grader who’s struggling with reading comprehension and it has been a wonderful tool for him. The passages are short but interesting and grade appropriate reading and understanding. The questions are challenging and after a few months of consistently using this workbook, he has shown great strides. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good for teaching inference and true-to life interactions.
I am a reading tutor and this is my favorite workbook. It is particularly good for students who have difficulty with inference and causation. Topics are a mix of fiction and related non-fiction. Along with other 3rd grade tasks, it teaches how the emotions and interactions of the characters affect their behavior. It has some direct answer questions and some that require inference. An example is a story about a boy having a bad day at soccer practice and wanting to quit. The student has to identify characteristics of the boy and the coach as well as why the boy wants to quit. It asks for the students to identify parts in the story that tell how the boy is feeling and what he is thinking. The next story is the mother asking questions to identify that the boy missed lunch and coming up with a solution of a snack before practice. The questions then relate back to the student if they ever wanted to give up. A drawback is that the Grade 3 is prominent on the cover, but pages can be pulled out for delayed readers. The stories and illustrations could easily be used with late elementary.
