Upgraded DIY Automatic Drip Irrigation Kit, 15 Potted Houseplants Support, Indoor Watering System for Plants, with Digital Programmable Water Timer

This is a great kit. I purchased the DIY Micro Automatic Drip Irrigation Kit because we intended to travel for a few days and my wife’s tomato plants require regular watering. It is great that everything needed is provided in the package - the programmer/pump, drip heads, tubing, filters etc. installation required only a few minutes. The unit can be powered by either 4 AA batteries or with the included USB cable. In my case I skipped the batteries and used only the USB cable and a spare cell phone USB Charger I had. Programming the unit is simple as well. You will set How Long the pump is turned on to water your plants (1-99 secs or 1-5 mins) and How Often the pump will do this (I set mine to every 4 hours). The pump provides 500ml per minute, so you can calculate how much water your plants are receiving. In fairness, I did have some difficulty when first programming the unit. It seemed simple and the first cycle always worked fine (first cycle is immediately after completing programming. This can be delayed by providing an additional parameter). But subsequent cycles failed to start. I communicated with the seller, Andy, via email and he was very responsive in providing me suggestions or offering a replacement unit. In the end, it was a simple solution. He suggested replacing the batteries and unplugging/plugging the USB cable. I did unplug the cable and I installed fresh batteries (initially I had no batteries). As soon as I installed the batteries the pump began watering the plants. I then connected the USB cable and the unit has been reliably watering the plants ever since. All in all, I’m quite happy with the setup.

This product is great for anyone who wants to water their plants consistently and automatically. I keep a small indoor garden at home but travel very often for work, and so I was looking for a way to make sure that my plants (peppers and vegetables) can survive 1-2 weeks without my attention. This DIY drip irrigation kit does the job nicely, but I would warn customers to watch out for quality control issues. First, the pros: (1) very easy to set up, (2) nice options for watering up to 99 seconds at a time, in time intervals ranging from every 1 hour to every 30 days. This covers many types of plants from water-intensive vegetables to cacti. (3) A good amount of piping and drip ends are included -- I use several drip ends for my larger plants, and fewer for my smaller plants. Cons: I would have given this product 5 stars, but unfortunately the first unit I received was defective -- it would only pump correctly sometimes -- and this inconsistency was a major flaw since reliability can mean the difference between healthy plants and dead plants after a long vacation. I'm giving this product 4 stars because customer service is responsive and eventually sent me a replacement product that looks like it's working (which makes me think my initial pump was defective). This product still looks like the best value for the money on Amazon, so I definitely recommend it, but I have to dock 1 star for the initial defective product.

I purchased this item to water some plants while we were going on vacation. It arrived on time with plenty of hose and connectors to do several plants at the same time. It took me a little while to understand the set up instructions but the customer service was excellent, promptly replying to my email and even provided a video to help with the programing. The watering time was easy and adjustable from 1 second to 99 seconds. FYI…..1 minute on delivers about 1/2 litter of water. The watering interval was a little more difficult for me to understand. First off, if you want to water at 10 am in the morning, you must do the programming at 10am. The clock starts at the time you set up the program and is not adjustable. The interval button cycles first on hours then days so 0.1 waters every hour, 0.5 every 5 hours and so on up to 1.2 which is every 12 hours or twice a day. Then it advances by days, 1 is every day, 5 is every 5 days, up to 30 which is once every 30 days. I didn’t want to bother changing batteries so I used the USB cable provided and plug the unit into a standard 5 volt UBS wall charger. It’s also a good idea to place the unit at the same height as the plants to avoid the siphon effect and not stress the pump by having it pump up hill against gravity. All in all, this product worked great and we use it all the time now and never have to remember when to water or how much to use. I recommend this item to anyone who wants to keep their plants healthy whether they’re home or away.

I'm in love with this thing! I bought it for my tomato plant, which needs about a litter of water daily, and I was worried that it would die if I went on a vacation. Now I know I can go away for days or weeks and the plant will be fine (as long as the container it feeds from has water). But I am actually using it while I'm home, because it is soooo practical - no more forgetting to water the plant! The set up was not that easy, but I found a couple of videos on Youtube that helped me a lot. I have a few plants that could benefit from this, but since the device pumps and distributes the same amount of water to all the tubes, you need to use it in plants that need the same amount of water. So I am using it only on my tomato plant, and I am using other alternatives for the rest of the plants, that can be watered every couple of days. My setup is a big container full of water and then the tube is split for two drippers, this way I water top and bottom of the plant. It waters about 100 ml per minute, so I have it running for 5 minutes everyday at the same time, which is 500 ml, and since I have 2 tubes coming to the same plant, that is the litter that it requires (500 ml x 2 tubes). Once I have the budget I'll get another one for the rest of the plants :). Updated: I’ve been using this for over a month with no issues, still loving it, no malfunction, leaks, or problems whatsoever (with daily usage).

The product is very reliable and easy to use! The product comes with simple, easy to follow instructions and allow you to have a great setup experience with the product! It also comes with multiple pieces that allow you to customize the wager flow however you'd like! Amazing quality and has battery power options aswell as 5v cable inputs! Has a clip to make it easy to attatch and overall great quality product! Questions are also put in the manual to answer many common questions! Amazing product and customer service. Money well spent!
