A salt replacer? How can you go wrong?
in addition to getting more potassium in the diet, I use this to replace salt for everything. Put it right in the salt shaker and use it without the health problems of regular salt. It it stronger than salt so be sure to salt to taste before using a lot. I have heard that it doesn't retain the salty taste if you salt before cooking (I don't know for sure since I never salt when cooking) so just wait until you're done cooking and add it. Easy.

Good deal
Good deal. I go through a good bit of potassium making diy electrolyte mixes. This dissolves easily and comes at a good price without buying massive bulk amounts.

Potassium Chloride substitute for table salt
Helps greatly in cutting back on sodium intake. It can have a little bitter taste if used excessively. I often use a salt shaker mixture of 3 parts potassium chloride to 1 part table salt, or half an half. Either potassium chloride or table salt will have a bitter taste if used in excessive, just a different bitterness. Good alternative to table salt.

It works.
I bought Now Potassium Citrate before this type. It worked well, but gave me a too lose stool. I switched to Potassium Chloride instead. Not sure if it is better but I think it stopped softening my poop. I just began supplementing Potassium after I was diagnosed with Afib. My doctor and cardiologist did not bother mentioning low electrolyte levels, I had to figure it out for myself. After taking magnesium and potassium, which I knew I was deficient of, my heart palpitations and unsettled rhythms stopped. My exercise performance increased dramatically and I fell a lot better. This potassium WORKS. Just be careful and follow the label recommendations, or doctor's. Of course I had to ignore my doctors because they all wanted to kill me with expensive drugs and procedures.

Potassium chloride is 3 times as salty as sodium chloride (table salt).
Heart Associations recommend that the maximum amount of Sodium added to the diet every day (as Sodium Chloride or ordinary table salt) is 2 grams, and Potassium as in this Potassium Chloride is 3 grams for maintenance of normal blood pressure. Too much Sodium causes fluid retention in the blood and leads to high blood pressure. Since bananas contain about 0.4 grams of Potassium each, you would have to eat 7 bananas a day to get this much potassium. A way to do this is to add 1/3 the amount in place of ordinary salt of potassium chloride to savory foods. Do not take this neat (by itself) as it causes erosions (tiny ulcers) with mouth throat and stomach pain. Had been taking this for years for high blood pressure and leg cramps: previously was pharmaceutical grade (USP) but now comes with a California Prop 65 warning about Lead content. Although packed in the US, this is probably made in the NOW factory in India where the QC may be worse than in China. Any information by an independent testing lab with no link to this manufacturer (NOW) as to the Lead content of this product? No response in contacting NOW customer care in Illinois. Would be good if manufacturing went back to USP grade.
