I opened the box and upon initial inspection I didn't realize that it was 2 sided, so when I saw the 10 digit increments I wanted to return this item, but once I flipped it over I realized it was in standard measurements also. This is durable, small and so very helpful and easy to keep in a purse due to it's size!!

This thing is perfect in every way! We recently did a few small remodel projects in our home. It seemed like every time I went to the store to shop I needed a measuring tape! I started carrying one and was using it quite frequently, but it was so bulky. I looked around on Amazon and found this. It is a little bit pricey, but completely worth it. I tried another product, but it was so small that the tape didn’t really work and it was more like a novelty item. That is not the case with this tape at all! It is extremely effective and the tape does not get stuck when trying to pull it out or retract it. It is strong and high quality. I’ve had several people ask to use it when I’ve broken it out in the store. :) Great item to have. Highly recommend!

I keep one in my pocket daily. I always seem to need one. Very handy, I've had one for two years I imagine it'll last longer than the plastic ones I used to carry, those would break after a few months. Small, portable steel tape measure that can come with you anywhere. It retracts well, mine hasn't failed me yet. I just bought another one as a spare to put in my small emergency toolkit.

Well, many years ago, I started my career working for a company that manufactured large (6" diameter), high voltage (400kv, 2000 amp) power cables that were buried many feet underground, or laid in cable trays in tunnels. An essential part of our quality control tools was a diameter tape. We used it many times a day. Instead of graduations in inches (or millimeters), these diameter tape measures are graduated in units of circumference of circular (i.e., round) objects. Place the tape around the object to be measured, and what you read on the tape is the diameter of that object. I've been tying to find one of these for a number of years. I do some volunteer work at a local State Park, and more often than you you might expect come across an old rusted galvanized pipe (or even some of the newer black ABS pipe that someone's put a pitch fork through). We all look at it trying to guess whether it's a 1.5" or 2" diameter pipe. Some of my colleagues try to use regular tapes to measure the diameter, - good luck on that one. I hand them my diameter tape, they wrap around the pipe, et voila, they read the diameter directly off the tape. I've also used it for vent and duct pipes - I don't know about you, but I find it tough to measure a 14" or 16" duct pipe from the outside. This Lufkin tape is not as sturdy as the tapes I used several times a day many years ago, but for occasional use, it works well. I've "calibrated" it against pipes with known diameters, and its fine - as it should be with a device with a (Greek letter) pi * D multiplier. So OK for occasional use, at a reasonable price.

Exactly what I was expecting, diameter tape for measuring pipe. I usually buy the Stanley, but I like this one as well.
