On Self-Hatred: Learning to like oneself (Lessons for Life) Review: Ravaging - Great book that really ties in past trauma and how it causes self-hatred. This book is a deep thinking read and a great study. Because of this book along with therapy and self-help I have overcome my self-hatred and I now have strong relationships with family and friends. Review: A powerful and insightful read—highly recommended - I really enjoyed this book. It’s from The School of Life, and I’ve read several of their titles—each one has been excellent. On Self-Hatred resonated with me deeply. It offers a thoughtful exploration of why we sometimes struggle to value ourselves or fall into patterns of self-contempt. I believe it can genuinely help readers better understand and address these issues. I’ve read it twice and even bought it as a gift for others. Truly a worthwhile purchase.

Solid information
Great details on how you got to where you are but lacking in how to get yourself out of it. Much of the book is explaining why, not much on action moving forward.

great book!
i enjoyed reading it and learnt allot from it. i wouldnt recommand it for someone who doesnt feel like they have a high emotional intelegence for slef reflecting. i would also like to add that this isnt a "1+1=happiness" kind of book. its more of an eye opener to another way of looking at things and i think its really important that who ever is reading it is in the right mindset. ive been reccomanding it to allot of friends and ill probably read it again in the future.

Mental exercise - Life changing
This book is written like a masters level class on philosophy and I mean that in the best way possible. This book isn’t an easy read, the concepts it employs and the verbiage it utilizes could be viewed as “tough to swallow” by some. However, this book breaks your self hatred down to its very components. It has you understanding what to be human means, to be human is to experience error. To be human means to experience imperfection. Self hatred is not our fault, it is a mental illness that requires treatment - and that’s okay. We just view these things as what they are, and that is - hating yourself is unfair and delusional. As I read line after line, I could quite literally feel my view on myself and the world change. I’m not going to say this book cured me, but I will say I am the closest to self acceptance that I’ve ever been because of this book.

Like a wise, consoling & caring friend
Very insightful, realistic yet empowering - found myself quite a few times feeling as if it was reading my mind. With great compassion and sympathy, It touches the parts of our minds which generate deep pain in us, unpacking and explaining them in great accuracy. High quality materials, good packaging. Highly recommended

extremely helpful during the dark time
I’m in depression now and am seeing therapy regularly. I think this book really help me to navigate through my long-term tendency of self-hatred and found a different way to cope with it. I find it really enjoyable to read when I am alone in my bed during night.
