I regretted only purchasing one, seeing as they are somewhat short, but extremely adequate for a Step 1 reader. I ended up stopping by the bookstore to pick up a couple more. These are a great way to get a new reader excited about the material they're exploring, and eager to read more. My nephew's read it several times over, and I think it's the Superhero theme that sparked that interest. Highly recommended purchase. Review: nice book for the beginning reader - I purchased this book for my 4 year old grandson he is into superhero so I thought this would be the perfect book to start him reading. As you would imagine the story is not much but it is easy for him to read. I chooses it because of the use of the use of sight words which help the young reader to start to recognize words which gives them confidence to continue to read. What i also like the series is rated for the level of the reader so that as the reader improves they are able to go to the next level. There are many books in all subject matter but I recommend to purchase something that interests the child it helps if the subject matter is something they like it makes it easier to get them to sit and read with you.We started on the reading at 4 years old with my grandson but I would even try these books withs someone who is as old as 3 the younger a child learns the basic of reading it helps with getting ready for kindergarten

Great Place to Start
I find that the whole line of "World of Reading" books have done an amazing job in helping my 4 year old to develop his reading skills. As he is a huge fan of super heroes, it made it easy to get him to sit down with me and learn to read. They have colorful pictures and exciting stories that keep him wanting to turn the page. I highly recommend this book and other books in the series.

Don't buy on kindle!
I have several of these books in physical form and my son loves them. However, this is a complete joke on a kindle and they should not even be allowed to sell. Pages are only half displayed, words cutoff, etc... If the publisher can't be bothered to actually read their books in kindle format before selling to the public, then we probably shouldn't encourage them from buying them either......I know I won't be.

Cute Read for a Young Audience
I bought this book for a 5 year old obsessed with Iron Man, and for him, this doesn't disappoint. The writing is streamline and sparse, while the story line is intended as a basic introduction to the Iron Man character. My son is able to make out some of the words and his enthusiasm for the Avengers characters gives him the extra incentive to try harder and figure out the rest. I wouldn't recommend this for someone 7 and over. The concepts would be too simplistic. For younger readers, it is much more approachable. As an aside, this book is regularly read on the Kindle Fire HDX and I have never had formatting issues.

Great books and great prices!!
I bought this for my grandson who has been having problems learning to read. His mom was having to fight with him to get him to practice, so I figured if he had something interesting to read, it would be an easier task. He loves superhero's so I bought him a bunch of books about them!! He loves them and they were cheap enough for me to buy several! No more fighting to get him to practice to read!!!

Great book - kindle version has graphical/file issues
This seems to be a great book. I do believe the text is a good level for my six-year-old son and the artwork aligned properly with the text flow. However, the pages are cropped off showing half bodies and have faces for most of the book. Some of the text which is black, overlays dark art making it nearly impossible for my son to read. I just think there is a graphical glitch with the file for this book. I have deleted the book and re-downloaded and the same problem persists. I have tried this on other devices as well with the same issue. I have tried many other world of reading books through Kindle and they appeared to work just fine. Only this book has the issue that I have seen so far. Giving this the star rating chosen so the issue will get attention and hopefully get resolved. Kids would love this book otherwise. Still a great read if you are a kindle unlimited subscriber since it is free currently.

Short to read. Simple sentence structure. Is a challenge for my almost 5 year old who is on phonics phase 3 at the moment so that is good. He doesn't like the comics for phonics books from school as much as he does his super heroes so I use these alongside them. He can read the high frequency words and the CVC words as well as a few others but I do like the fact there's a challenge there in longer three syllable words and for some two syllable words he hasn't come across yet. The series isn't about an adventure that the characters takes part in though, it is an introduction to that character. In our house that is fine because we then go on to discuss what we know they can do etc but it might make a difference for some.

We have another super hero level 1 book. As previously stated my 4yr old loves super heros, we read the books every day so these books are a must for boys starting to read, Its something they enjoy, the pictures are great. My only bug bear is the obvious americanisation of words. Bugs not insects for example. But is all relative and they have to learn it sometime.
