Works just like OEM. Somehow misplaced the original. You don't need to replace this strip when replacing the windshield rubber, but you can if you want. Used this on Jaguar XK150. Fits multiple applications.

Not listed for E30 BMW's specifically, but worked great. Also, the length supplied was about a foot longer than needed, so be judicious with your cuts and you'll be fine.
