Good portable OBD scanner with iOS compatability
This tested well with several cars and a hybrid with good connectivity and comprehensive functionality. It isn't the cheapest model out there but it seems to be worth the price.

Brilliant Tool
Excellent tool, paired with app: 'Car Scanner' on iOS App Store can create useful dashboards and measure sensor readings as well as codes and more. Works wonderfully on my '04 Prius, '07 G6, and even '98 Chevy C1500 gives me realtime data including mileage. Recently used to troubleshoot CEL on a Prius V, was able to monitor per-cylinder misfires and find that an additional cylinder was misfiring a lot less that hadn't generated a code by the ECU yet. Ordered several to just leave in various vehicles and distribute between friends :)

Works great on 08 Honda Accord w/ Car Scanner ELM327 and iPhone 14.
Bought this a year back while on sale, knowing that I'd need this eventually. Plugs right in the OBD2 port on my 2008 Honda Accord EX and works perfectly with Car Scanner ELM327 (aka Car Scanner Pro) on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I'm able to verify all the sensors, check existing codes, clear codes/check engine light, and monitor other stuff like fuel mileage. This works perfectly; just remember to connect from the app and not your Bluetooth settings! I'll also try this with my iPad as I'm sure the extra screen real estate will make the app even better.

Works well with Fusion
Works very well on the cars I tested, just needs application with it; the connection is okay.

Handy diagnostic tool — do check app and vehicle compatibility first
This is a really handy tool to have, especially if you want a portable way to read and clear check engine codes, view live sensor data, and monitor performance from your phone. It works with both iOS and Android when paired with a compatible app like Torque, Car Scanner ELM OBD2, or OBD Fusion. It’s compact and easy to install in your car’s OBD II port, and once you’re in a supported app you can see things like engine RPM, coolant temp, trouble codes, and more — great for basic diagnostics and insight into what’s going on under the hood. A few practical things to know before you buy: • On iOS, you connect directly in the app rather than through the Bluetooth settings. • The actual features you get depend on the app you choose — some advanced diagnostics require a paid app or certain apps that support your vehicle. • Compatibility with Android head units is more limited than with phones due to Bluetooth profile support. Overall it’s good value for money — easy to use, small enough to keep in the car, and it gives useful diagnostic data when paired with a quality app. Just make sure to check which apps you plan to use and whether your specific vehicle supports the functions you want before relying on it for deeper diagnostics.

Works great with common apps
Works great with the Dr Prius, Car Scanner, and Torque apps on Android (haven't tested on iPhone yet). Was able to scan and clear codes, observe battery voltages, and have an RPM display in a car that didn't have one in the dashboard. Bought new direct from Amazon, but it arrived clearly used with dust and a dog hair in the pins. The instructions recommend that you should unplug it every time, but also say that it should be fine to leave it for a few days if necessary. I accidentally left it in a car with a weak battery for 3 days and it was noticeably harder to start afterward. After the car has been on for a while and I haven't connected to it, sometimes it won't connect, but I just unplug/re-plug it and it works fine. Comes with a very protective seeming case, but based on my last device, these things can just kick around loose in a glove box forever and be fine.

Works great, lots of metrics!
Great product! Worked perfectly on my 2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD v6. Used to monitor atf temps for trans fluid drain/fill. Great value for all the metrics you get with this device and the free car scanner app. Wish i knew about this device sooner!

Summary: This little thing just diagnosed a valve issue the dealer missed and even the VANOS system of my new Mini missed. It comes with a storage case, feels well made, easy to connect and will work with very well with BMW group, VW group and Toyota cars as I have used it with those products. Story: Got a mini countryman a few days ago, and whilst it's been a great daily driver, and the test drive made me love the car's handling and speed, their reputation for how unreliable they can be is something i've always been aware of. Fast forward to 3 weeks into the ownership: I start to notice the exhaust tips become black due to soot buildup. Then I start to question why I have been refiling the tank so much despite my aggressive driving. Anyways, I buy this product and start looking at the error codes and checking common issues with those codes on mini forums. Seems like fuel's mixture is too rich and the engine cannot correct itself. So before heading to the dealer, I use the Bluetooth scanner to export all the proof I have in case I need to get the insurance company involved. One trip to the dealer later, I ask for an inspection, I paid for an extended warranty on the car. They tell me that if I ask for an inspection and they find nothing, the costs are on me. Not a problem, this product had me knowing something was wrong. After the inspection, the mechanic tells me it's an air intake valve that needs to be replaced due to carbon buildup. Total costs of 2700 plus tax which the dealer of course tries to split with me. Conclusion: This little gadget allowed me to return that 20k car before my return period was over and even made it possible to export proof of the issues of my mini to my computer, which allowed me to get all my cash back and avoid owning a lemon.

This is a great portable little gadget. I bought this to diagnose an intermittent issue that my car was having with weak starts and stalling. Two mechanics couldn't figure it out and when I plugged this in, it indicated a communciation issue with the ABS system in my car. A big part of why I bought this was that many other OBD scanners only check engine codes, but not other systems like ABS. If it only scanned the engine (which had no codes), I wouldn't have been able to work out the cause of my intermittent issues. It connects reliably to the car and my iPhone and comes with a little plastic case to keep in the glovebox.

This OBD scanner is perfect. Setup is quick, the Bluetooth connection is stable, and it works exactly as expected on both iOS and Android. It’s especially great with BimmerCode. Coding and diagnostics are smooth, reliable, and hassle-free, with no random disconnects or issues during use. For its size, it’s surprisingly capable. Overall, an excellent diagnostic tool that just works. If you’re planning to use BimmerCode or want a reliable OBD scanner, this is an easy recommendation.
