I purchased this product 1/10/2023. When I purchased this product, there was support information and it is supposed to have a one-year warranty. All of a sudden, my RAID 5 has gone offline, and the drives are now flashing red lights, and I am not getting any information about what is going on. Do not purchase this product!!!!! There is no support, you can't find the manual online and Amazon is absolutely no help!!!!!

Yes, it doesn't pass SMART values to your system. Yes, the fan is louder than other enclosures. Yes, I was never able to get the "sleep" function to kick in, but all in all - this is what I would pay $300+, so the value is great here.

I bought this 4 bay raid enclosure to backup a desktop PC, 2 laptops and a 4 bay NAS. Using raid 0 (max storage, no fault tolerance) my Windows PC sees all the drives as a single volume which gets you past the limitation of Windows not extending a volume using multiple external drives. I've run a backup script and this box has satisfied my needs very inexpensively. BUT... the fan noise is unbearable. Sleep mode is pretty much non-existent. While this box does what I need functionally, I'm going to start the return process as soon as I'm done writing this review. It's a shame since, other than the headache I'm getting from the fan noise, the box works perfectly.

DO NOT BUY - FRAUDULENT ITEM DESCRIPTION AND DETAILS I ordered 2 of these Raid enclosures. The switches don't do anything on either unit. I am well versed in Dynamic Disk configuration and their functions. This is a drive enclosure. It will only show each disk independently and you cannot use WinOS Raid configuration as it will show as "object not compatible". Brand new WD SSDs. This is a fraudulently labeled and advertised product.

I bought the raid version of this box, I have connected via eSATA and USB which both work as advertised save the S.M.A.R.T info. It does not seem to pass it back to the PC, my Mediasonic box does and it is very old. Seems like a miss for a box with compact 4 bays and a single fan.
