On sweating and saving $700
I kept seeing this add for a sophisticated safety bar, 'fall in love with the squat again,' (my paraphrase). Quite honestly I've never loved squatting or working out, cardio, etc for that matter. I do these things to keep from turning into mush. I don't get excited about brushing my teeth but I do so for obvious reasons. Weight training is this for me. However squats have always hurt me - the bar digs into my bony shoulders and base of my neck. Four years I was trying things; different holds, camber bar but no success. My drive up and back down were slowed to prevent the bar digging in and being painful. Bar speed is crucial to the success of lifting and I had none to avoid pain. I had a rash scab always at the base of my neck. I've never sweat much on the squat in my 4 years of doing them. I was ready to buy the $700 sophisticated safety bar. Then I found this product and gave it a go. The price certainly makes it worth a try. Other than getting used to the slightly elevated bar, widening my grip a bit and making sure seam of the pad is not against your body (thus making the bar prone to roll on you), there was little learning curve, no pain and for the 1st time: profuse sweat! That is what you see in my picture. This pad also makes it great on standing overhead press to rest comfortably at the collar before you initiate the upward drive and for bench landing on your chest before you drive the bar up (a little less rom is good for us old guys with touchy shoulders). Try it, you too may sweat for the first time.

PRO Fitness Barbell Pad and Product Support
The PRO Fitness barbell pad product: You wrap it around a barbell bar by placing the bar within the inlet of the pad (or place the pad around the bar) and use the two velcro straps that come along with the product on the left and right side of the foam padding to help keep the pad from coming off the bar. The product met my expectations and does what it is intended to do on an Olympic bar: Provide padding for my shoulder/back so that the barbell pressure against the trapezius muscles are reduced and doesn't hurt when performing heavy squats and lunges, as well as provide cushion for my hips and legs when hip thrusting. The straps are sufficient as far as keeping the padding in place and prevent it from coming off the bar while working out. The product is fairly sturdy/durable for what and how I use it. It is a rubber foam composite so naturally over time it will wear-and-tear as it rubs against the knurling and depending on how you use it and the frequency of use. The velcro straps have a small metal buckle to hold the straps together and keep the padding in place. This product has a LIFETIME WARRANTY which is a huge plus! The warranty is the reason why I felt confident in purchasing the product and with PRO Fitness. The online registration process took me less than 30 seconds to complete upon arrival. Instructions are included in the packaging. Product support is usually excluded from reviews unless there is a complaint but it is the product support I experienced that made me believe in PRO Fitness. When I purchase anything I expect to get at least what I paid for. The product I received in the mail was missing the two straps that hold the barbell pad in place. Naturally I was disappointed but understand that things happen between the creation of the product, the packaging, the delivery process, and its final destination - my home. Rather than making excuses, pointing fingers, or asking questions... the customer service representative I dealt with responded to my concern within 30 minutes of my inquiry. Without jumping through hoops and having to endure an "interrogation", which would have aggravated me even more, the customer service manager was apologetic (even though it wasn't her/her fault) and immediately addressed my concern. In less than one hour (would have been sooner but I wasn't expecting quick responses so I didn't check my emails immediately) a replacement was sent out with an ETA of 2-4 working days. I always see poor reviews regarding products and/or poor customer service and/or support so I always pray that it doesn't happen to me. I had a great customer experience with the customer service manager and continue to have a wonderful experience with this product and with PRO Fitness at the time of this review one month after my purchase. I received quality service and a complete product replacement within 3-4 business days. In summary: Pros: - Lifetime Warranty. - Good customer service and support. - Comes in black, red, and pink colors. - Having your own pad eliminates the problem of having to find a pad to use at the gym or having to worry about who's been using the pad. Cons: - None at the time of this review.

Provides Excellent Support!
PROS: • No more wasted time hunting the gym for a used, dirty, and uncomfortable pad that every other person has touched and abused • Foam is very thick, providing a comfortable cushioning for the shoulders and traps when squating, or hips when performing hip thrusts • Padding helps shift focus away from the pain and finding a comfortable position, and more towards proper form and technique • Minimizes the risk of injuries or irregular movements causes by improper form • Helps to gradually and comfortably transition the body for heavier weights • 2 velcro straps help secure and tighten the pad around the barbell, preventing it from popping off • Extremely useful for barbell hip thrusts, providing excellent support and cushioning on the hips, especially when going heavy CONS: • Can be a hassle to constantly put on and remove velcro straps, and would be nice to have it built in instead • No carrying bag to prevent it from getting dirty in gym bag

Good product
I really like the Barbell pad because when I used to use the barbell without the pad I would get bruised. I would then resort to using the gym mats and folding them to help ease discomfort. This barbell pad is super cushion-y and comfortable. it is easy to place onto the barbell and with the velcro strap, it helps keep it in place and not slid around. I am liking the product so far and i like how affordable it is (

Great quality, design and functionality for average user - could be wider for large adults
Bought for my home gym and like design and quality. Really like the contoured neck area and velcro straps though it could be a little wider for people with really wide shoulders. Perfect for my use. Nice thickness of foam and just right density for average user - not too soft, maintaining good cushion.

Excellent Barbell Pad, Excellent Customer Service
After using a variety of barbell pads over the years, this one is by far the best. I mainly use it for hip thrusts, and this thick, well-built foam pad makes lifting 300lb+ extremely comfortable on your hip bones. It fits snugly on a standard Olympic bar even without the straps so you're not messing with it during your workout, but is not difficult to put on or remove. Very comfortable for squats as well if you like the extra support there. It's an excellent product on its own, but their customer service really makes it top tier - they have a lifetime replacement warranty that they actually follow through on. After about two years of heavy use, a portion of the padding on my first pad had gotten thin, so I reached out to ProFitness's customer service. They sent me a replacement right away at no cost to me, and it was an extremely quick and pleasant experience. This is the best barbell pad & the only one you'll ever need with the lifetime warranty!!

What more can I say?
It is a foam pad that wraps around a barbell to help cushion it and make your lifts more comfortable. I use it specifically for squats and hip thrusts, the latter for which I think it is essential. This product also happens to be a better price at about half what most other foam barbell pads cost with seemingly no issues with quality because of this. Although I have never owned any other brands, but I imagine there probably isn’t much difference other then maybe the density of the foam. However, the foam on this one feels dense and provides good cushion. If you do have any issues they do offer a satisfaction guarantee so no worries there. My original one actually came with one of the velcrow straps missing, and instead of returning it or them sending me another strap, they simply sent me an entirely new one and said I could keep the old one. So, now I have a back up...thanks! All in all good product. I would highly recommend!
