Parsons Welsh Pickled Cockles (155g)

I had never had cockles before. I saw someone on a YouTube video talking about the pickled cockles they would eat and my interest was piqued. I love oysters, mussels, sardines, etc. Well, really any seafood or shellfish. At any rate, I just had to order some to try. I'm so glad I did. These are amazing and I can't believe I waited so long to try them! They came wrapped in bubble wrap, and sealed tightly (the lid has a pop-up 'sealed' indicator). I'll definitely be ordering more of these as they seem like something that I will crave from now on. If you like seafood with a briny, vinegary taste, then you should definitely try these.

I have an unusual palate compared to my US friends. But ... I love pickles. And I love shellfish. This was a tasty treat. I ordered it thinking it would be a joke on my wife. She didn't like them as much but was surprised she didn't hate them. I ended up eating the whole thing. The texture is a bit like clams. The taste is unique. I think in a good way :)

Jar was broken and leaking rotting fish fluid over other items In box. Glass jar had thinnest wrap. Sat on truck and then on poach in hot sun. I work with horses and other livestock and the stench was as bad as a necropsy on a dead carcass sitting for days in the 100 degree heat.

I think the cockles were mushy.

Sooooo good reminded me of a my childhood back in wales ! Eating them in llandudno ! I have ordered more

Good quality,sprinkle of malt vinegar and some black pepper,just like being at the seaside,almost !

I love these! I grew up catching fresh clams and crabs in the salt marshes in Southern New Jersey. The flavor captures one that is so similar it is difficult to separate the two. The price is great too. Try with Tabasco or Crystal sauce on crackers or in a greens salad Will be buying again.

Bottle (1) was broken upon receipt. Had to throw it out.
