Yes, I could have made my own, but I was lazy and bought this. Extremely happy with it. Both my dogs can ride now with no issues. Doesn't bring them too close to the edge and they don't get tangled up. They also haven't weakened or fully rusted. Been using about 3 months, and I go through the car wash all the time too. My dogs know not to pull on it though. It's not going to hold a dog going full force against it. Dog safe and appropriate, dog mom approved! Edit- 1 yr 9 months later. Still using it for 2 dogs at a time, still going through car washes with it. Still happy. No issues at all.

My dogs love riding on the back of my truck bed and for a while I was replacing nylon leashes due to my dogs bitting through them. Now I have found the leash that can't be bitten through. LOL. Metal has done its job. Fits my 2008 Tacoma Truck.

My dogs love their trips to the dog park. With 3 huskies though it can get crazy if they all ride in the back seat. We modified our truck bed to have 6 inch thick foam padding , so their paw pads don't get hurt or hot. My last concern was if they got to excited and fell out. So we got harnesses and this amazing chain hooks and now they have flexibility to move but not so much they are at risk

It will stop a LARGE dog who is not use to riding in the back of a truck from going over the side. Plus with locks can help secure the shelter in the back of the truck.

I bought this over last winter and used it for the first time today... when we got to our final destination my smaller (under 40 lb) dog jumped out the tail gate before I could unhook her and the chain fitting completely failed! Last time I'll ever buy something of Amazon ahead of time or of impulse buy... Window for returning expired months ago... 😒

Holds both my dogs when they're being protective. Both dogs have a combined total weight of approximately 130 pounds and I couldn't even tell you the force that they have. This securely holds them in the bed of the truck and they love being back there.
