great taste, takes a bit longer to ferment
Loved the taste! So good. Creamy, light and delightful. I followed the instructions, used a yogurt maker and it took a bit longer to ferment (~12-18 hours depending on the desired thickness) than stated on the package. But the taste is unbeatable. I’m curious though if the starter indeed can only be used once to retain the flavor. Currently running the second batch with the leftover from the first batch. Will come back to update later. By the way, the milk I used is whole milk from Penn State’s Creamery, which definitely adds on to the flavor & quality of the yogurt I made.

Excellent yogurt starter. My husband now eats yogurt!
This is a very easy yogurt to make and tasty. I make it in a yogurt maker. I use about 2 Tablespoons of the already prepared yogurt from the week before, with 3 new envelopes of the starter, and 5 and a half cups of milk. I add chia seeds to make the yogurt a little thicker. After 10 hours overnight in the yogurt maker, it goes in the fridge. Perfect!

Didn’t work
This did not work. I have made yogurt a thousand times, I always use a little bit of yogurt as a starter, so I’m not new at this. I am supposed to eliminate cows milk so I didn’t want to use the store bought yogurt as starter for this goats milk yogurt. It has been 7 hours and it is still liquid. I vulture my yogurt for 24 hours but in my years of experience , it should be gelled by now. Even if they WOULD give me my money back, I’m out the money for the goats milk too.

Makes excellent SCD yogurt!
Best yogurt starter I have used. I make SCD yogurt with this, as it doesn't have bifidus cultures in it. Pricey, but well worth it. I use two packets per two quarts of organic milk.

good flavor
The yogurt starter works as any other. Add it to milk, keep it in warm place for a day and you get a yogurt. It came out good. Unlike other started cultures, this one expressly states to not reuse the yogurt leftovers to make a new batch. I am not sure if it is a marketing move or what, since it will still work, theoretically indefinitely, but it will pick up stuff from the air and slowly change, just as with any other culture, I suppose. Eventually you either get it contaminated with something bad and will need to throw it away, or it becomes your own signature starter. I call their saying that bacteria would be "less prevalent" if you reuse the starter a not completely accurate statement.

Love it!!
The yogurt sets (I let it go for 24 hours) and is delicious! I will definitely purchase again!

My yogurt is perfect!
This yeast made a wonderful yogurt, right acidity and some sweetness. The consistency is just perfect as I love it, very thick. Loved it!

Didn't Work For Me
I tried twice to use this yogurt culture. The first time my thermometer wasn't working right, so I had to guess on the temperature. I figured it was my fault that one didn't set up. It was totally liquid, and tasted a bit like buttermilk. The second time I tried it, I had a working thermometer, and the temperature was exactly right according to the directions. I used the method where you put it in a tight-fitting bowl inside a cooler, covered with a towel. When I took it out after 8 hours, it still felt warm, but was totally liquid. Maybe I got a bad batch.

One review states this product is not Lactobacillus Bulgaricus and that they wasted a lot of milk with it. I thought I'd contribute that I've been buying this exact product, in its old packaging and its new format, for 10 years and always made delicious yoghurt successfully. This contains only two strains, which are the two I look for: Lactobacillus Bulgaricus and Streptococcus Thermophilus. Highly recommended:)

this is fab, you get 10 sachets. it makes lovely thick yogurt that has a nice light creamy taste. in theory this pack could last a long long time, as you just need to use a couple of spoons from previous and came out just as perfect. time will tell how many times i can keep using the previous batch, but so far so good
