Great Finish for Engraved Wood – Rich Color and Lasting Protection
I used Furniture Clinic Danish Oil as the finishing coat on engraved wood coasters and door hangers, and it worked beautifully. The oil goes on smoothly, soaks into the grain, and leaves a warm, natural finish that really brings out the engraving detail. It gives the wood richer color without being overly glossy, which I prefer for engraved pieces. Application is straightforward—wipe on, let it absorb, and wipe off the excess. Once dry, it provides a durable layer of protection against moisture and everyday wear. On coasters especially, it helps resist water rings while keeping the engraved design sharp. Pros: Enhances natural wood grain and engraving detail Easy to apply with a simple wipe-on process Provides protection from moisture and wear Works well for both decorative and functional pieces Cons: Requires multiple coats for the best finish Slight odor during application (fades once cured) Overall, this is a reliable oil finish that balances looks and durability. It’s an excellent choice for small engraved projects like coasters, signs, and door hangers, but versatile enough for larger furniture too.

Works great, smells great!
It’s a little expensive, but that’s because it’s for premium furniture, not doing large areas of flooring. It looks nice, spreads evenly, and dries evenly. It’s not a ton of protection, but that’s just danish oil, not this one in particular. I wish I could get a scented candle that smelled like this stuff; the smell of this stuff drying is now one of my happy places. It is slightly thinner than maple syrup.

Safe. Easy to use. Solid results.
I ordered this as a substitute for Minwax’s Antique Oil for the furniture I design. While dining at my favorite restaurant, I overheard the owners discussing how their stake knives needed to be refurbished, so I grabbed five to take home to test out this Danish Oil. After sanding the handles to a 600-grit, smooth finish, I applied three coats as suggested. With a 5000-grit polish of the blade, the knives look brand new. I’ll be incorporating this product into my designs’ finishes.

Store properly
Don’t store it in shed under 50 degrees. Bottle will explode and penetrate the bag and get all over everything. It says 10c -25c to store. But this is America folks. We don’t use Celsius - we use Fahrenheit . America First! As far as protecting my outdoor furniture- it worked well and absorbed well- but I’m upset I lost 3/4 of a bottle because the bottle exploded

Beautiful!!
1. Super easy to apply 2. Light smell, but I thought it smelled good 3. Did darken the wood slightly, but that’s what I wanted 4. Curing time varies, as I’ve been working on this piece for several months, so of course more humidity = longer curing time. The bottle says 100sq ft coverage… I’m on my fourth bottle for a standard 4 drawer dresser (I am oiling all the drawers inside and out) So do yourself a favor and just add another bottle to your cart :) My only semi-complaint is coverage

Very thin, dries too quickly...
This seems to be made up of more solvent than oil. The consistency is extremely thin. It dries before it even has a chance to penetrate the wood and requires way more coats than the most popular Danish oil sold on Amazon. Luckily, I only purchased the small bottle because I will not be buying this again.

Outstanding results!
I have well-loved mid-century indoor tables, which were showing their 36 years of use. If the tables had been easy to replace, I would have, but that style is no longer available. I am delighted with how much the color and overall appearance have been restored. Thrilled! Two end tables only needed one coat. Coffee table that gets daily use is looking wonderful after three coats. Just did the dining table. Some reviews mentioned fumes, so I took the smaller tables outside. No need. Fumes were not impressive or problematic at all. I learned through experience to wipe off the residue more thoroughly. An excellent product. Am ordering more. Highly recommended.
