Bright, Compact & Camping-Ready: Perfect for Star Parties
I picked up this little red LED flashlight for camping and astronomy—and for such a compact tool, it punches way above its weight. The red light preserves night vision, so when I’m tuning my telescope or walking to the back of the campsite, I stay under the celestial glow without ruining my dark-adapted eyes. It’s rugged and solid—dropped it a few times into dirt and gravel, and it’s still going strong. With a beam that reaches around 150 yd/200 lumens, it’s great for illuminating charts, gear, or even signaling in the wilderness. Used it at multiple star parties: no glare, no complaints—just red glow guiding you under the Milky Way. Super strong in a tiny package that’s earned regular space in my gear pouch. Highly recommend for campers, amateur astronomers, and anyone who wants practical night lighting without the white-light blot-outs.

Inexpensive red light for amateur astronomers
Very bright red light in a small package at a great price. Works well when I am out with my telescope at night. If you find it too bright you can unscrew the front cover and put a custom cut semi transparent sheet in front of the led.

Do you see me now?
My wife and I have recumbent trikes. one of the problems with a low rider like these is being seen. Most of the rear tail lights I have found are not bright enough for daylight use. and the ones that are bright enough are REALLY expensive. These (inexpensive) little jewels are VERY bright in the day and almost blindingly at night. I zip tied them to our racks using an old rubber handlebar grip cut to fit around the shaft (not blocking the cooling fins). I plan to mount them on a coil spring to mimic a blinking light. (possible maybe:) REVIEW: A FEW WEEKS LATER............After triking about for a while I looked at the now lensless capless flashlight. Apparently, these lens caps were not installed very tight. Good thing I ordered two more for the other side of the trike(s) This time I used Lok-Tight and tightened them as well as I could. Remember this, if you are going to install one of these little jewels on your bike/trike, it takes a beating back there. It would be interesting if the manufacture of these lights were to put out a light specifically for bikes, I for one would buy them. A FEW WEEKS LATER AGAIN. 14500 3.7V BATTERIES WILL NOT WORK. I have found that these little jewels do not like the 14500 cells. Mine worked for about 20 minutes and then started to flicker then die. I bought 4 of them to use as rear lights on my wife's and I recumbent trikes. (2 per trike) (very bright in full daylight) They are much brighter with the 14500 cells but then, alas, problems arise. The 14500 didn't ruin the flashlight, as I put standard AA 1.5V and they are working fine (again). Wrapping the battery in card stock to take up the slop will help stop the light flickering because of loose-juice in the tube issue. Great little light.....if ya knows the fix-it's.

Surprisingly good!
I bought this to spy on my pet tarantula in her home so I don't startle her with the overhead lights (allegedly they can't see red light). For such a small flashlight it's VERY bright and can be adjusted to focus more in a smaller area. It's also very tough, I've dropped it twice already onto a desk and it hasn't chipped or cracked. Quite a good little light!

Awesome for such a low price.
Small, compact, and I was really impressed with how powerful the red light is. Perfect for hunting and finding my deer blind in the dark of morning.

Good for supporting nighttime astronomy
Honestly, for those of us who use high quality expensive flashlights this will come across as cheap. However, it is functional and I use it when working with my telescope. If anything, it could be a little less bright. It gets the job done at a reasonable price. I may buy another.

Works as advertised for overnight camping
Bought these for camping overnight at a dark skies park. More than threw enough light for me to see everything I needed. I’ve taken them on a few trips so far after and it’s been reliable, at the very least nothing has ever failed on me. Can’t speak to the limit of the charge or expected battery life, but I can tell you I’ve never had one die on me, and it’s nice that their batteries that are replaceable and not built-in USB-C charged or anything. Different modes and sliding focus work advertised. Compact design meant it easily into a pocket or multiple into my backpack. I probably should’ve thought more about why I would buy four of them, but they’re cheap enough. I gave a few to friends.
