Xyzal offers solid 24-hour relief, especially if you suffer from seasonal or pet allergies. I take it at night, as it can make me slightly drowsy — but that’s actually a plus because I wake up without stuffiness or itchy eyes. It’s comparable to Zyrtec in effectiveness but generally costs more, so I only buy it when it’s on sale or when I’m dealing with heavier allergy days. Note: Not non-drowsy, so plan accordingly.

I've suffered with allergies my whole life: hay fever, seasonal, pollen, etc. When I got my dogs about 10 years ago, pet dander made my life hell. I've taken every medication on the market. I did years of allergy shots, used nasal steroids, eyedrops, got pet hair repellent bed linens -- anything you can think of, I've tried. I can't wear makeup because my face is always a mess. I took one of these tablets and I can't recall a time I've felt more clear-headed. No more stuffiness, congestion, blocked airways, sniffles, itchy watery eyes, hives, itchy throat-- all ~gone~ It alleviated ALL my symptoms without knocking me out. This stuff is so amazing I can hardly believe it.

You have to go through hoops to get the pill out of the package! As far as the pill itself nothing that great! I won't be buying it again...

I decided to give this a try since my body seems to get used to whatever allergy medicine I take after 6-8 months of a daily dose. I had resorted to taking Benedryl before bed and either a Claritan or Zyrtec the next day due to my seasonal allergies. I live in the south and I get really bad allergies. I started with just 1/2 of a Xyzal about an hour before bed and it seems to do the trick for me. I am not overly tired the next day and my allergies are at bay for a good 18-24 hours. I weigh about 140 and am 5'3" so I know I'm taking a pretty small dose for my weight, but perhaps a different formula is what is doing the trick. I did try one whole tablet and that made me very drowsy the next day so unless I really need it, I'll stick to 1/2 a tablet. May not work for everyone, but currently it's great for me.
