Immediately impressive
In anticipation of the arrival of the galaxy s8+ I ordered, I also bought a gluttonous amount of cases for it. Really a bit foolish but it is what it is. I'm not going to bad mouth or point out flaws in any of the other cases I did purchase though they certainly exist. Instead I'll focus on the Speck Presidio case. I knew as soon as I had removed half of the outer bubble wrap envelope from the package the Speck came in and the feel of it that this case was a far superior product than the others I had purchased. Sometimes you truly do get what you pay for and this is one of those um...cases. Pun unintentionally inevitable there. So moving on the box the Speck was nicely snugged up into by an S8 shaped raised inner portion of the package was drastically different than any other case I had received some of which had nothing but a flimsy plastic bag as packaging. This seems a minor detail and it is overall. It is also an indication of the quality of the product contained within. That product being very well done by Speck. There is not a flaw nor slightly imperfect or suspect aspect to be found. Fit and finish are very nice being incredibly thin for the feeling of stout protection the case gives off. The inner layer which is not a true 2 piece design like we've all no doubt become familiar with but instead another layer within the harder shell thats as integrated with that shell as it is different in texture and purpose. The ridges of "impactium" (yeah I know) that line the inside lip or edges of the case absolutely present you with the feeling that they do exactly as intended. They protect your phone, no doubt about that one. It has a nice amount of bezel protection and the buttons are noticeably cooperative with any input you give them. The only small caveat is that to me the case which is advertised as "grippy" may be a bit slippy in reality. Its hard to say until I've got a warm phone thats been confined in the case for awhile and I'm actually hands on with it to know. My first impression is that it is not "grippy" yet not a slippery case either. It's hands down the best out of the handful of most popular case's that have been reviewed here on Amazon that I followed the herd and also bought. That is, the best in my opinion. Yours may differ but I'd be willing to bet not many have disparaging words to say about the case even if looking for reasons to have them. Some things are just nice products period. I think this case comfortably fits within that group. Worth the extra coin, recommended

Otterbox Firmly in the Rearview
Just came away from an S7E with a Speck Candy Shell Grip, and was intent on the same case for my new S9+. When I learned that they were only doing the Presidio Grip and read the early reviews - non-grip surfaces textured and slippery, a la Otterbox, and the grips now a harder rubber - I decided to go a different direction. Enter the Presidio Sport, and based on my first handful of hours with the case, I really like it. Fit and finish is top notch, and it looks and feels expensive, proving a really good match for my black phone. The surface feel has a velvety texture and it feels wonderful; almost hypnotic to just hold it and move it around your hand. It's got good tack to it and doesn't feel like a slip risk at all. I even tested it with a wet hand and had no issue hanging on. The volume, Bixby and power buttons are aligned perfectly and work well. The charging and headset port covers are sturdy, if a bit stiff at first, and have a nice lip with which to pry them open; I'm sure they'll break in quickly, and will likely hold up well based on their heft. The speaker and camera cutouts are all spot on. The case extends beyond the height of the screen at the top and bottom to keep it off the surface when placed faced down. There is no problem reaching the edges of the screen with a thumb or finger to scroll or activate edge functions. One thing I can't advise on is how it works with a screen protector. I'm still enjoying the look and feel of the big beautiful display too much to cover it with anything. The red version of this case is what first caught my attention but it was not yet available, so went for the black rather than tempting fate with a naked $800+ phone. I think I might still pick up the red version of this case when it's available, and rotate as the mood strikes; I like this case that much.

Fits like a glove
It seems sturdy and protective without being too thick. Takes me back to the feeling of the old phones. Had to slightly trim a couple business cards since that slot was a little smaller, but don't really need that anyway.

Nice case, remove and reseat phone if buttons seem stiff
Very nice fit and good feel to the case. It does seem to attract pocket lint thought. Initially I had a button problem like another reviewer, but I was able to solve this by installing the side of the phone with the power button first, now the buttons all feel good.

Strong material but Too slick, making it hard to handle & easy to drop due to its too smooth finish
I've always liked Speck products, very cute, stylish, and yet functional. Unfortunately, can't say the same for this very model. Like other reviewers have commented, it's very slippery & too slick to handle period. I thought I could overcome other reviewers' comments since I'm very careful with all my phones & have yet to drop any one of many cellphones I've owned (knock on the wood). As you saw it coming --> HOWEVER, I do not feel good about this case at all. Don't get me wrong, the product itself is built strongly and with good material. I just agree with those who warn others of its slippery character & perhaps just the wrong finish/ material for outer shell. I'm afraid this case would assist putting the end to my clean record of not ever dropping/ shattering the phone. It will not be an issue for those who tend to have a bit more sweaty or sticky hands? Def. not for someone like me with washing hands too frequently (in medical field) & cannot keep my hands moisturized. Lol Subtracting one star for lacking functionality & another star by making the decision that slick & slippery finish was the way to go. All this is just my humble opinion, i still like the brand & plan on buying different Speck case with the usual pattern grips.

Back got scratched up easily when its advertised as scratch-resistant. Volume buttons are not straight, they are protruding outwards of the case

ES UN BUEN PRODUCTO COMO TODAS LAS FUNDAS PROTECTORAS SPECK. EL PROBLEMA ESTA EN QUE UNA VEZ INSTALADO EL TELEFONO DENTRO, LOS BOTONES Y EN CONCRETO EL DE BLOQUEAR PANTALLA O APAGAR EL TELEFONO (ES EL MISMO BOTON) AL APRETARLO PARA BLOQUEAR APAGA EL TELEFONO Y NO LA USAMOS. TAMBIEN LAS TAPAS DE AURICULARES Y CONECTAR A LA CORRIENTE SON DURAS Y NADA PRACTICAS DADO QUE LAS TIENES QUE ABRIR O DESTAPAR PARA CONECTAR. EN VERDAD A SIDO UNA MALA COMPRA. NO LA UTILIZAMOS Y CONTINUA SIN ESTRENAR
