No, it does not have Microsoft name on it. It does just as well. You can buy aftermarket anything that will do the job as the so-called original I would buy again.

Poor Quality – Doesn’t Work Right
I bought this hoping it would make using my headset on my Xbox Series X a little easier, but it’s been nothing but frustration. First of all, the chat mixer controls barely work—I could barely hear my friends over the game audio, and no amount of adjusting fixed it. The volume dial is incredibly finicky, and sometimes just stops responding altogether. Even worse, the mic mute button doesn’t always work, which defeats the whole purpose of having quick controls at your fingertips. To top it off, the adapter feels really cheap. The plastic is flimsy, and it doesn’t fit snugly into the controller—it wiggles around and occasionally loses connection, which interrupts both game and chat audio. Save your money and invest in something higher quality. This might be cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Great product, even better customer service
I have a couple of these, and they work great. Recently however, I got one that was clicking in and out when it was bumped. At this point I'm not sure what I should do, because I have no way to send it back because I'm active duty in AIT for the military, and I didn't want to drop another 40 bucks on a new one. I reached out to the seller, and they happily sent me a new one that works great. Very satisfied!

Not Optimal.
I have bought (4) of these. The first one was amazing and I bought in 2010 or close to and lasted until now. Since then I have bought (1) that didn’t even connect, and the last (2) are extremely touchy. If you don’t press it against the controller when you hit one of the buttons it cuts off volume and you have to disconnect it and plug it back in and wait 10sec to get volume again.
