Q: Is it easy to measure yourself? Or do you have to have someone else take the measurement?

It is easy. You or someone can do it. If you do, just stand on it and pull the small lever to the top of your head...that will be your measurement. So, technically, you don't need another person to do it for you.

I have been using mine for about a year and have found no way to use it with the subject lying down. It is a very nice item and much stronger than my first Seca from 5+ years ago. Thank you

Q: Does this fold up? What are the dimensions of it folded up? Trying to find something that would fit in a duffle bag for field work.

It doesn't fold... It comes apart in 4 pieces so you can easily put it in a bag for field work. The only problem I had was one of them (I've used 3) the last piece was stuck in the base but I still could carry it around.
