Easy to use
Feels like good quality. We love the fact there’s multiple ways to unlock. You could use all fingers on both hands if you wanted to. So far the only problem is sometimes I have to have the smart lock read my finger 1-3 times before it actually unlocks and other times it gets it on the first try. The passcode and key card work great. I have had the smart lock installed without batteries for 2 months since I did not have WiFi. When I got WiFi I was able to completely set it up and so far the app has not given me any issues. The installation process was pretty straight forward but for some reason I’ve had issues on both doors trying to change out the plates into the door frame because the locks no longer went into the holes in the door frame after I changed them but that may just be the way my door frame is built lol. Would recommend to anyone who might be a little tired of struggling to find your keys while you have other things in your hands. Also to anyone who would like to know when a door gets unlocked.

Great value, excellent customer service
I am very happy with this lock. The biometric feature lets me add family members that don't live with me, as well as being able to unlock the door through the app on my phone in addition to generating a one-time passcode if needed. I had someone help with the initial installation as boring holes through an existing doorframe just wasn't part of my skillset. I had the lock for a year and a few months before it started having issues; it gave a notification that the batteries were low, so I replaced them, and within 2 days they were low again. I used the same batteries on another device that worked fine, but in any case, I bought more expensive batteries and got the same result. I contacted Sifely customer service and they were terrific. I wasn't sure if my unit was even still under warranty and they never made a hassle about it--asked me for some additional info, then my order number from Amazon, and I received a new lock for free the next day. Installing it was a breeze and the company followed up with me to make sure everything was working ok. You really can't ask for better customer service. As to the lock itself, my only complaint is that the biometric sensor doesn't work well when there's moisture in the air (my door is recessed and covered by a screen door, so it's not getting soaking wet). Nevertheless, the keypad works in wet weather and that's all I need. Highly recommend for the price and convenience.

Going Good - So Far
I purchased five of these locks a few months ago along with a Wi-Fi gateway – more on that later. As for the locks I have to say that I am impressed currently – who knows what the future holds. They arrived securely packaged and the installation was straight forward. I did have to chisel out a couple of the jam strike plate areas to allow for their proper placement. You do want to pay attention to step 4 in the installation guide regarding the location of the “▲”. But don’t worry if you mess it up just take the lock off and do it right this time! Setting things up can be a pain if you have multiple locks and need to get a bunch of people’s fingerprints registered separately on each lock. (Minor criticism) Here’s a tip: The fingerprint readers work well, but they’re sensitive to finger placement. Make sure your finger is positioned the same way each time you use it, especially as it was during registration. For example, if you reach for the handle and press your thumb differently than when you first registered it, the sensor may not recognize it. Only kind of grumble I have is regarding that same fingerprint sensor. If moisture is involved, I hope you remember your code or have a registered card with you. It’s not as bad as I made that sound but if your hands are wet or there’s moisture on the sensor it can be very particular about recognizing your fingerprint. I have used my code a few times because of that little issue. I was worried about battery life, but I can tell you that, after 3 months, two locks are still at 100%, while the other three show 95%. So, I guess we’re good to go there. Oh yeah, the gateway. The gateway’s only purpose is to provide remote access via the internet and/or integrate with smart home systems like Alexa. And there’s a little disappointment here as well. Yes - you can lock, unlock, and check the status of each lock via Alexa. But you can only do it one lock at a time. SIDENOTE: Alexa+ handles this better and will address multiple locks in the same request. P.S. These locks are NOT waterproof, they are water resistant – which means they might survive a heavy dew. The one lock I have that is exposed to the weather now sports an outdoor keypad cover, it just needed a little modification for the door handle. I can't rate them as five star, but I would give them 4 1/2 if I could. Yeah, I can recommend them - but don't come looking for me if your experience isn't the same :-)

Best replacement for traditional locks in the digital age
Purchased this to replace our front door lock. Since our family usually uses the garage to enter/exit the house, we often forget to bring our keys. I wanted to have an alternative entrance (e.g. in case of a power outage or when I got out for a run). Product research was a bit confusing because there are similar looking locks branded from Sifely, Dermum, and samtechT sold by different 3rd party stores. My understanding is that they are minor rebrands of the same 2 lock models and all use the Sifely app. The older model comes in a brown box, and the newer one comes in a blue box. I received a blue box with a check mark indicating it is a black model. It comes with 2 normal looking physical keys and 2 white, unmarked key fobs. The only indication that it is a Dermum brand is on a small label on the blue box and instruction printouts. It look about 15 mins to replace the lock. The only thing I supplied was a screwdriver. I suggest watching the installation video (https://dermumstore.com/pages/dermum-s-smart-lock-tutorial) before and during install. It was compatible with the existing strike plate so I left that alone. Once it is installed, it felt very sturdy (doesn't wiggle or anything) and looked very modern/minimalistic with the black styling. You MUST pair the lock to a smartphone because anyone can do it without needing physical access to the inside (i.e. there's no initial pair button) until a Sifely account takes ownership of it. Afterwards, ownership can only be reset by using the reset button inside the battery panel. Speaking of battery, I used 4 high-capacity Eneloops. They started at 65% (not sure if its due to the lower voltage of the rechargeable battery or the state of the batteries I was using) but its stayed at that value for the past week. We love the multitude of ways of lock access. You can use passcodes (generated or user defined), e-keys (normal or admin access given to other Sifely accounts), fobs, and finger prints. Passcodes can be one time. Other digital access can be recurring (e.g. only during daylight hours on certain days of the week). You can also view the access records of the lock from the app. The only thing you can't control is the physical key and should work even if there's no power. Fingerprint access is really convenient but could have better success rate. It works great for me but a bit touchy for my wife. We use multiple fingerprints to help (e.g. "Foo Thumb" and "Foo Thumb 2") plus passcode backup. There is a physical privacy slider that will block everything except physical key and admin digital access. The lock auto relocks after a few seconds (up to as long as you want). There is no physical slider/button to leave it unlocked (e.g. contractors going in and out of the house) but you can enable passage mode in the app to do that. We love the lock and will probably replace our side door with it as well. It has the ability to mirror settings between locks so it should make setting that up easier. Update: Correct some spellings and wording. Still working well after 2 weeks.

Works to the dot
Recently received my smart lock from Sifely and everything works as advertised. Was a little reluctant at first to see the fingerprint working, but as Long as the tip of your fingers are clean you will get it open successfully. Already set up the tags, in my opinion, these could be a bit smaller that what I received but working wised is fantastic. The password code you set up is effective as well. The app, is really user friendly and setting up any of the unlocked function is really fast too. I struggle for a couple of minutes trying to open the regular key option, then I realized you just have to push the inner part and the cover will come off. One of my biggest fear while purchasing this smart lock was the handle direction in which in the features advertised, it does not specify if you can install it in both directions. If you wondered about this, then yes, you can indeed install it online either to the left or right depending on your door set up. It comes with a dummy follow through install instructions. Although if you have experience changing door locks, is pretty intuitive to install one of this. Overall I give this product a 5 star. It has become my favorite lock so far.

Bad Button Placement
Update -- I bought a second one against my better judgement and it doesn't work. The screws stripped out and it became a huge pain in the ass to uninstall. The problem isn't with the lock itself since the functions (minus the fingerprint reader) works great. The problem is where the override lock button is located. Eventually I'll buy a different lock and move this one somewhere else, but for now it works and is a good price. Override Lock Function There is a tiny switch on the front of the knob on the house side that clicks on and off to allow you to override the other features so no one can enter the house even with a code or fingerprint assigned. However, it is in a terrible spot. If you hold onto the door and shut it as you're leaving the chances of brushing against it and triggering it and locking yourself out are VERY high. Ask me how I know. :) Anyway, if you're careful of that, you can avoid it. The second issue is my dogs have triggered the button twice now as well. It was solved with a dog gate but if you have this in an area where you can't have a dog gate and your dogs can reach the lock, you can be easily locked out. Having a function where you had to press the button down and move it in the opposite direction it was currently set might fix the issue, but I think the answer is to totally move the button to the very bottom of the unit. Fingerprint Reader Simply does not work. I have tried to register a few different fingers and done it a few different times but it never works after the initial first time setting it up.
