Is it easy to get the meatballs out if you’re not freezing them? Does the meat stick to the silicone?

Accepted Answer

The meat doesn’t really stick too bad to the silicone—more just around the edges where a little might squeeze out when you put the top and bottom together, but it scrapes off easily with a silicone spatula. I actually spray the inside of the top and bottom with a light mist of oil. This ensures that they don’t stick and keeps me from having to use extra oil when I bake or cook them in a skillet. What I do is remove the lid, lay a sheet of parchment over the bottom of the Meatball Maker, then turn a cookie sheet over this upside down—hold the edges of both the cookie sheet and Meatball Maker and flip over, remove the bottom and you can easily separate the meatballs without having to scoop them out

Is this silicone mold oven safe?

Hi Jay and Valerie!  The Meatball Master is designed to be a freezer container, not a cooking vessel.  Since freezer space is at a premium for most people, food is packed as close together as possible in the container.  We are also minimizing contact with air to avoid freezer burn.  Therefore this product should NOT be used in the oven, microwave or grill.  It is however, dishwasher safe.  Thank you!

How many tablespoons of meat does each well hold?

If you evenly distribute 34 ounces/ 4 1/4 cups of finished meat ball mixture, it will yeild 1 ounce, or 1 1/2 Tablespoon portions (ground beef weighs more then water, that's why). Slightly more, possibly up to 2 Tablespoons per/ 5 1/2 cups might fit comfortably.
