OXO Good Grips Egg Slicer

(as several reviews have already mentioned) As usual, OXO product is awesome. It worked so well on eggs I thought to slice a mushroom with it. FAIL. Wires went 'twang' and the slicer was done. NOT the fault of OXO, nope... all on me. So, enjoy your sliced eggs and leave the mushrooms to a good knife.

Right now I think this deserves a 1 , but I’m giving it a 5, because nobody reads the “1” reviews. Bought this on August 20, 2022. It worked great until today! Yesterday it worked great. Today 2 wires broke- it’s “busted” , there’s no way to repair it. We didn’t use daily. My husband used this to dice his eggs. He cut them one way, then the other way we did this for a dozen eggs about once a month. Today I put one egg in it and it broke, pop , 2 wires came out! Now it is junk! I paid $12 for this, that’s too much for only 11 months of use . OXO can do better!

Blade sharpness and plastic material were very good. It is easy to clean and can be used for a long period.

This egg slicer is the BEST! I bought this for my Mom since one of the cutting strings broke on her old one. She told me it had to be the exact same one as the broken one. We had bought the broken OXO brand slicer years ago and I purchased this one to replace it. It appears to be bigger than the old one and it works like a dream. It cuts through boiled eggs cleanly and it appears to be heavy duty, too, although we're not going to try that! It is good looking being white with black trim and is really easy to use. I would highly recommend this egg slicer.

The first one we received was damaged, and Amazon replaced it with another one. They slice hard-boiled eggs very well (take the shell off first, of course...), but you have to be careful when cleaning them because the wires will break if you're too harsh on them. Don't put them in the dishwasher, hand wash only, and gently.

Bought mine in 2020, lasted for over 5 years, and I loved it. Strong, sturdy, dependable, easy to clean. But I had to try it on strawberries, and I ruined it. Now I have to repurchase, feel lost without it, don't see a better one out there.

We were frustrated with our old slicer and decided to order a new one. I'm glad we did! This one works so much better! You don't have to hold the egg still with this one...it just sits nicely in the pocket and doesn't move while slicing! It also cuts with less force, so you don't smash the egg while slicing. Really happy with this purchase!

Me encantan los productos OXO. En general, están bien hechos, son resistentes y cumplen su función. Tengo otra cortadora de huevos de la línea Martha Stewart y los alambres se están deshaciendo y no es tan robusta como la mía OXO. Uso esta cortadora cada vez que como huevos cocidos.

Whenever possible I buy OXO kitchen products as they are well made, non slip and good value for money - this egg slicer is no exception. It’s larger than my old slicer so enables the eggs to be sliced vertically and horizontally. Excellent idea, as I used to get c10 round egg slices of which c4 slices were all egg white, but with this OXO slicer if you slice from top to bottom all of the oval slices have some yolk in them (see photo). I have been experimenting slicing other foods, it’s great for mushrooms, tomatoes, strawberries and even sausage but not so good for kiwis or cucumber - my Mandoline slicer is best for these larger items (OXO Mandoline of course).
