It works! Keeps deer and rabbits out! Minimal unpleasant odor
I have a serious deer and rabbit problem. Last year they ate my garden to ground. This year I have gotten serious about closing the "salad bar" down. I have hostas and hydrangeas in my woodland garden which have been ravaged by deer. I purchased Deer Scram based on other positive reviews. I initially bought the small 1 gallon bucket and have recently purchased the 5 gallon bucket because it works. I use a heavy application at approach points (deer trails into my yard) and then a lighter application around the periphery. So far, great results. I see deer in the evening standing and grazing in my neighbors yards. I had three next door yesterday evening. I was afraid to check the garden in the morning figuring I would have a nothing left of my hosta. I was very pleased to not find a single leaf eaten. I do reapply after heavy or prolonged rains. There is a slight pungent odor during and right after application, but it is not strong enough to run you out of the garden and the next day it is almost completely gone. While I use it as a periphery treatment, I have applied it around a few of the more appealing hosta plants that get eaten first. I presume I have rabbits living within the periphery boundary. This here and there treatment appears to have deterred their eating of the hostas as well. While I see rabbits in neighboring yards, I have not seen one in mine. I also use two other deterrents, one is the Scarecrow motion activated sprinkler Contech CRO101 Scarecrow Motion Activated Sprinkler . I use it at the deer trail entry point from the woods. If a heavy rain should diminish the potency of the Deer Scram, I have it as secondary system. My second alternative defense is Repellex Systemic Animal Repellant Repellex 20003 150-Count Systemic Animal Repellent . It is a tablet that contains capsaicin (hot pepper)and has a chemical agent that permits it transfer into the root system of the plant and then be carried throughout the plant structure, rendering my plants not so tasty. I like the redundant systems and so far I have been able to enjoy watching my garden grow this year. Last year at this point there was so much damage I did not want to go out to it. Now I can enjoy a relaxing stroll through my garden after work with glass of wine.

OMG! Dog Friendly
The product works great around the plants. We have a lot of deer and it truly keeps them out. HOWEVER, this stuff has an effect over my dog! It's like Catnip to him. I put it out and he immediately tries to eat it. He tried to break into the tub. I literally have to keep him on a leash and walk him around the house to do his business. If I don't, he runs over to the closest area where it was sprinkled last and tries to eat it. I know it won't hurt him, but i wish it had something in it to repel him. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had this issue.

No more rabbit issues
This scram works great at keeping rabbits away from my flowers gardens. I sprinkle the scram around the border of the beds and it works like a charm. The only negative comment is that it has an awful smell! Guess that is why the rabbits don't like it.

Two months using it with great results
I am a new user of this product. Last year, due to human encroachment on the deer habitat around here, the deer moved into my suburban neighborhood for the first time, and absolutely decimated our vegetable gardens, shrubs, and it was so frustrating for me and many of my neighbors. I sought fencing-type solutions but they were unsightly and got in the way of gardening, were not perfect, required a lot of maintenance, and expensive. My garden center recommended Deer Scram. It was very expensive so I tried a small container at first, to see if it would work. It appeared to work, and I checked the amazon reviews. Based on those, I decided to take the plunge and buy a huge bucket. The garden center said they apply it at the perimeter of their property every 4 weeks and do not have a deer problem. I have applied it directly around shrubs and garden plots as well as the perimeter of my property, on the 4-week schedule, for 2 months now. I am very pleased to report that since applying the deer scram and going out on "deer patrol" daily (checking for deer poop and hoofprints and nibbling), I have only had one instance of hoofprints, which looked like they had leaped the fence from my neighbor's yard into mine, then took one whiff of this stuff and high-tailed it out of there FAST. No nibbling!!! All of my tender plants are up, and no signs of nibbling. Yay! Also, my shrubs which had been eaten way back are starting to come back with new growth. I have spoken to my neighbors who are NOT using Deer Scram, and they are STILL having deer problems. So that tells me that this stuff really works. I will report back at the end of the garden season with an update. But the garden center stressed that this product should be applied faithfully on a 4-week schedule, for best results.

Best Deer deterrent on the market
I live in an area with a heavy white tail deer population. They travel in large herds and have completely decimated my gardens in the past. Started using this product two years ago due to it's ease of application and the allegation that it lasted through many rains. I use it over the snow in the winter, I sprinkle it out as my hosta start to emerge and for two years now I actually have had tulip bulbs bloom, have perfect hosta, have untouched day lily blooms, and no nibbling on my roses. I sprinkle it again in Mid May and once more at the end of June. Then I leave for the summer and amazingly when I return in September all my gardens are still free of deer damage. I buy the largest size and it lasts a full season. I have extensive plantings on a four acre property. This product has made gardening rewarding again in my area and is clearly the most effective, long lasting and least expensive on the market. And it does not appear, so far at least, that the deer have gotten used to it.

This works!
I've tried a bunch and this one works the best. Lasted right at 30 days and I saw where that night the deer had a salad bar. BUT that area I run sprinkler system 3 times a week for 60 mins each morning. Water does shorten the life but I'm happy and this is my second bucket and also just got 25lbs of their pro brand and we will see if worth extra 20 dollars.
