Use this head and tune your drum and you'll get the "cha-cha-cha" sound outta your marching snare
I like these drum heads for their durability in a marching band setting.....Kids can be rough on an instrument. I've seen some reviews say their snare sounded better with this head....To me? ....This head allows marching snares to be loud and not echo as much....the sound is crisp and not hollow....It will give you the "cha-cha-cha" sound....be sure to tune your drum to a D and make sure your snare wires are touching the bottom head and you will get the sound you're looking for. Most drummers don't know how to tune their snare drum.....go to youtube to learn how. This head is excellent on a marching snare- FFX Pearl. It lasts forever!!!! It's built great! It can take a licking and keep on ticking!! For the price- you can't beat the quality and durability of a Remo. They are worth every last penny you spend!!!!!

Drum skin
Excellent snare side head for all types of drums and music. Remember: This is NOT the Batter (top) side head, it is not meant to be played with sticks. What can you say. This head does what it says. It is a good fit for most brands of drums and provides the snare snappy resonation require for just about any type of music. I have used these heads for many years on Gretsch, Ludwig, Rogers and Slingerland snares playing Rock, R&B, Blues and some Jazz. Well constructed. I have never had a problem with the head.

Industry Standard
The Remo Ambassador line of heads is the best all-around snare resonant head you will find on the market, and can literally be used in any situation ranging from bebop to extreme metal, which is why it's almost always the head that is shipped by default with most drums. *I am a work-study at the Percussion Department of the Berklee College of Music, and we use the heads for almost all of the resonant heads on our snare drums around campus. To be clear, THIS IS THE DRUM HEAD YOU PUT ON THE BOTTOM SIDE OF YOUR SNARE DRUM - you don't normally hit it with your sticks. Don't get confused with the different names people refer to it as - it's sometimes called a snare head, resonant head, bottom head, or others (just NOT batter). "Hazy" and "Clear" are the same thing to Remo. This head is the equivalent of the Evans Clear 300 Snare Side head. The Hazy Ambassadors are 3-mil thick. The alternatives are the 2-mil thick Hazy Diplomant (or Evans 200) and the 5-mil Hazy Emperor (or Evans 500) snare heads. The attached video is taken from my YouTube channel - never3818 - and is a tutorial on how I tune my snare drums with the Hazy Ambassador as my snare drum resonant head to get a punchy modern sound as found in my other videos! *Disclaimer: The material in this video and this review are my own opinions or facts and don't necessarily represent the opinions of the Berklee College of Music.

Always love Remo
Great head just as Remo is known for. Shipping was not great and took several additional days to arrive.

Can't go wrong with Remo drum heads
Perfect upgrade to the supplied drum heads. So much more resposive.

Remo quality and sound
I like the sound and sensitivity these heads produce for the snare side of my snare drum. A work of caution though, like all snare resonant heads, these are very thin! They must be to produce the sensitivity in the snare wires required. But you must be careful. I tore a small hole in one of mine with the snare wires because the end of the snare wires were too close to the bearing edge. Not Remo's fault but it is something to pay attention to.
