I've tried many of the cheaper headlights and tail lights on desertcart, and surprisingly, Cycle Torch products are the BEST of both. The feature that really drove me to purchasing this light (aside from appreciation for the brand) is that it can be fastened with the stretchy silicone rings OR clipped onto a saddle bag. I use this on my Avenir saddle bags and it's easy on/off, and doesn't require me to have a lot of seatpost available for the light. This is an excellent design and I wouldn't have it any other way. This light is also about 5 times as bright as the tail lights I was previously using, and the battery life seems to be much longer (I have commuted with this light for 7 days already and I have not charged it yet - Still going on the 'out of the box' charge!!). Between this tailight, and the Shark500 on my helmet, I am equipped to ride in the darkest conditions, on or off road on any of my bikes. Super impressed as Cycle Torch has totally changed my expectations for night riding. I'm about to order 4 more so that I can equip my entire fleet and have one spare. I suggest you do the same! Review: Light and Bright, 2 years - Light weight and bright. Easy attachment. I commute with it in daylight and dark. It died after 2 years of frequent use.

I can't say enough about the value!
I purchased this light back in the spring and I have ridden over a thousand miles this year. I remember I purchased it on sale and I can tell you now I would have paid twice as much. It's easy to attach and it is extremely bright. I ride with confidence on many of the roads I travel where there is no bike lane. I don't have a doubt in my mind that I can be seen. That peace of Mind alone is worth much more than what I paid for the light. I also own other cycle torch products and I find them all to be extremely high-quality and designed well for what they do. They provide you visibility and the ability to be seen. In a world where people are distracted constantly on the road it's nice to know that there is at least one more thing in a cyclist favor. Well done Cycle Torch!

Works fine
My second one - seems to last for one riding season here in DC. Very bright and appreciate the flash mode for safety and viz. Not built to last forever but what is?

Cycle dud
I have 2 cycle torch shark 500 lights and I love them. They're so bright and so easy to use. I have also had a fire stick for awhile and it's been so good, I ordered another one. The 2nd one was also great,...until it recently stopped working. It must be a defective one.

Best value in a rechargeable light
Great little rear light. Very bright, bright enough during the daytime to catch drivers attention. Go to the web site for the manual, it's not included in the package. It has 3 modes in steady, 3 in flashing. Quick presses switch between stead and flashing. Long press to turn off. It remembers the last mode when it is turned on. Clip is strong, try it on the back of your helmet where it's more visible. I've bought several for friends.

Disappointed :(
Very bright light. My 3rd cycle torch product. Very happy. Appears to be well made. Steardy and comes in a nice package. Update: first light started glitching when riding or when trying to choose a mode from button. Contacted customer service , and they promptly sent me a replacement. First light had about 20 hours of use. Second light started doing exactly the same after only about 10-15 hours of use. Every time the light is moved, shaken it will go into really dull mode (keeps working but barely can see the light). Every time I hit a bump the light goes off. Next bump may come back on...or not. The light has never been dropped or anything, and I hear something is loose inside the case when I shake it. Bummer, was really happy with the light when it was working. Purchased a set of new tail lights of a different brand. Extra star is for excellent customer service :)

Easy to operate
This is my 3rd Cycle Torch light! Easy to operate, charge and mount on any bike. I have used the light during long (60 mile bike rides) and the light is as bright at the end of the ride as it is at the beginning. I have also mounted the light to the back of my bike trailer to add some security when pulling my children around the neighborhoods. Bright, noticeable and well worth every penny! Will be ordering more to place on the kids bikes since the batteries are rechargeable and take little time and last hours.

The light is bright enough even for daily use. On the most bright mode, it is so bright that friends asked me to lower it's brightness. I have been using it for two weeks and I always keep it on low brightness and no flashing. Battery was not dead after a 5 hour ride.

Short review; Flashing mode doesn't work after riding in the rain. Light now has 3 settings Low, Medium, and High instead of 2 flashing settings and one solid. Long review; Great light, it's very bright and easily detachable. It comes in a clear casing where you can see what looks like a computer board with a black back, which I think looks cool but it might have been to save money. The light rotates 360 degrees so you can place it however you wish on your bike. It is reliable enough that it will stay in the position you leave unless you bump it. One quick press turns it on, it remembers the last setting you use which is a cool feature. To turn it off just hold the button for about 3 seconds. It removes very quickly and easily with a standard rubber strap like you see with many other bike lights. I still use this light everyday. It's very bright and it is the best rotating light I've had. It's unfortunate that the flashing stopped working, but I can live with that because it is so bright. I just use a cheap dollar store one in addition to it for the flashing mode. I've purchased other Cycle Torch lights and have no problem in the past. Maybe I just got a lemon, or maybe I just ride too often in the rain. (I ride all conditions)

I use the medium flashing mode on this light, and I can only get 3-4 40 minute rides on a charge. Also the battery is dead if not charged within 2 weeks. Charges in about 1-2 hrs.
