Solid, heavy, and built like a tank!
The GMMK Pro feels premium the moment you pick it up. I was genuinely surprised by how heavy it is, but that weight translates to incredible stability. It stays planted even during long sessions and looks fantastic on the desk. The aluminum frame gives an industrial, high-end feel that's hard to beat. The 75% layout is ideal for me, compact without sacrificing function keys. Combined with my Kailh Box White switches, it delivers a sound and feel that’s pure quality. This was actually my first time building a keyboard. I was always scared to have to solder or manipulate the switches. This shell made that a breeze, though, with simple plug and play! This shell is the foundation of an S-tier build and absolutely worth it if you want a keyboard that feels as good as it looks.

Color me extremely dissapointed.
Heavy rigid keyboard, absorbs sound well. Isn't going to move on you. But incompatible with my Iogear KVM making it useless on my primary machine, and the machine I bought it for. Doesn't seem to be a fix for it, my research keeps finding other people with KVM issues as well not just IOGEAR, and no fixes I've found thus far, other than bypassing the kvm which is not the experience I was bargaining for with a 200+ keyboard. Pretty sad when it can't compete with a $24 Redragon as a basic keyboard doing the thing a keyboard is supposed to allow you to do. BTW I have Montech Mkey, Cherry MX 10.0N, RK S108, 3 different redragon keyboards the $24 one is what I just had working on it, they all work just fine with the KVM. Literally this is the ONLY keyboard that has had any issue with the KVM. And yes I'm on the latest firmware.

Almost perfect, nevertheless is a good choice
tl;dr - Grab it in sale, I got mine for around $111, which is a good price for a full body/case aluminum keyboard, these things doesn't come cheap. I wanted a gmmk pro since I started to get serious into this keyboard hobby, around one year ago, but at the time was quite pricey and I was just getting started on the custom keyboards space and instead went and bought a gmmk2 and a keychron v1. But finally I got my own gmmk pro, and for the little stuff I learned in this period of time here are my honest thoughts. Just a little background about myself so you'll know for sure if this might be the right keyboard for you: At the time I've only used tray mounted keyboards, on the not-so-budget friendly side, I own a gmmk2, keychron v1 and keychron v2. So this is the first time I'm using a keeb with an aliminum case and gasket mount(more on that later) Pros: - sturdy - didn't found scratches or factory defects, and I thoroughly inspected my new purchase - if you can have it as low as $111, this might be a nice purchase for you - even though the "gasket" mount doesn't behave as expected, like it doesn't give any flex, I don't mind it, I really love my tray mounted keyboards and wanted something with a more premium feeling(like having a full aliminum case), but with a familiar typing experience, like I haven't tried myself a flexible gasket mounted keyboard, and wouldn't know if I'd like the feeling of flexing the keeb while bottoming out the keys, I really type hard so then again, don't mind the sturdiness of this mount - is a heavy boy, if you're into that, you might love it - is qmk/via compatible, just need to follow instructions from glorious or any other site on how to flash the firmware, painless experience - has a bottom foam inside the keeb, frankly would prefer a silicone sound dampener as keychron does, but this foam works just fine - you have more cosmetic options from glorious themselves, sadly they don't sell all their merch in amazon; I got a brass plate to get a better sound with tactile switches and a top frame to match better my keycaps(all of the above directly from glorious) - glorious themselves sells a so called "flex kit" which improves the whole issue of this keeb not being flexy, but mind the price of that, can be on sale as low as $60, regular price is $100. so if you got money to burn, then don't mind this comment. if you're a normal guy like me, think first. If what you want is a flexible gasket mount keeb, look somewhere else, as price for the base model plus the flexy kit might not worth it compared with similar keyboards. - south facing rgb Cons: - the included stabs are very bad, like very very bad, lub job is not bad, but one of the stabs got stuck, that's not something new for me, I even have purchased stabs from glorious before and found the awful surprise of getting stuck as well. fortunately had some durock clones(new kingdom I think they're called) around, and swap them out. Even clones and very cheap stabs are better than any stabs glorious has made so far - the keeb not being flexy can be a con for some, but as this review is purely subjective, I put it in "pros" because that's what I wanted - regular price of $170 might not be of your liking, considering you can have fully built keyboards with aluminum case and better gasket mount system for that same price All and all, I'm loving this keeb, even if it is not a flexible gasket one, I feel a step up from my regular tray mounted keebs, the sound and the typing feedback is amaizing So my take aways: - get it on sale - do your homework and make sure to know what this keyboard IS and what IS NOT, before you buy it, so you'll manage your expectations - have stabs ready, just in case, but for the looks of it, you might end up with bad stabs, so you might NEED to change them. As demonstrated in the video, the "ascend" key doesn't ascend :)

GMMK PRO Frame = Fantastic!
To start off, I have only just built my first custom keyboard. I don't have any experience with keyboards that would be considered super premium, and any keyboard enthusiast would probably cringe at what I have used up until this point, maybe except for the lightspeed keyboard I had been using for a while. I liked the lightspeed until I came to realize how little I like full height mechanical keys. I just built a custom keyboard with a GMMK PRO barebones frame, silent black ink switches, and a set of low profile XVX keycaps from Womier. I absolutely love the keyboard, the keycaps might have to get changed due to RGB shine through being... not ideal. But that is my fault, the caps were advertised as recommending north facing RGB's since the legend is on the upper part of the keys. To speak exclusively about the barebones frame, I am aware that the keyboard market is full of options, and there are many enthusiasts who are very particular about their keyboards, for plenty of good reasons. The customization and personality, the feel and experience of each unique keyboard... It is a really fun concept that can also be a bit confusing and convoluted due to the depth of how complex some builds can be. This barebones frame takes a lot of the complexity out of the more deep and confusing ground-up keyboard building, and does a lot of the work for you :) The frame itself is hefty, solid, and built well. I love the simple but sexy aesthetic. The knob is really premium :o My favorite part though, is that this frame allows me to take my first step into the custom keyboard game, especially when I have always found my typing experience lacking. All you need to do after you get this frame is buy keyswitches of your choice, and keycaps. It really is that simple! Also, my setup was just asking for a little class and better fitting keyboard, so... :) Another thing to note is that the RGB is excellent and can be controlled simply with the frame (apparently, I haven't operated RGB with the frame yet myself) or by installing the software. The software is actually really good too, simple, and works well! Once more, mentioning that I am not experienced in a wide variety of keyboards, I can't speak on how this compares to other platforms. I can say however, that I love it! The solid build quality, awesome RGB and subjectively how clean and gorgeous it looks, leads me to really appreciate it overall and the experience it has given me! Highly recommended :3

Stopped working after 3 months
At first I loved this baseplate, its sturdy, very well made, doesn't feel cheap at all and worked perfectly. After about 3 month half of the lights stopped working so i unplugged it and plugged it back in which cause ALL of the lights to stop working, I emailed Glorious's support team and they ask for a lot and are pretty hard to work with. Just recently random keys have completely stopped working, I have tried anything you can imagine to fix this but when you're paying so much for a baseplate you expect it to work for at least a year.

Solid keyboard for gaming AND typing
As a college student who games and types a lot I wanted to get into the custom mechanical keyboard scene. This is definitely a really solid entry to it. I bought it while it was full price and of course now they can be bought much cheaper. However, even having bought it full price I think it was worth the money. If you’re coming a gaming board, this is going to feel crazy. It’s heavy, it’s quiet (maybe not the stabs on some boards), and it feels so high quality. If you’re already a keyboard enthusiast, you’re probably not going to like it. The stabs I mentioned before aren’t perfect by any means. The factory lube job is poor to say the least. I was lucky with only my left shift having any sort of rattle and its minimal. every other stabilizer feels great to me. The “Gasket Mounting” is very stiff and just feels like a sandwich mount. so if you want a flexible board be prepared to spend even more money on mods. But if you’re fine with a stiff board it’s not that bad. Good keyboard that I Genuinely enjoy, but you can definitely get comparable options for a better price although they may have trade offs, which is why i chose this board.

Beautiful but bad socket on one of the keys...
I have a GMMK Pro with flex kit, extra plates, extra cases etc... and found after modding it to be a great keyboard both sound and feel that has lasted the test of time. I was very excited to get this and to see that the front typing height is quite low, more like many custom boards rather than normal production units - no need for a wrist rest IMHO. The board in silver is simply stunning as well, fantastic finish on it! Sadly mine had a bad hotswap socked on the W key making it useless so I had to send it back and will need to wait on the credit before purchasing again. As I've built and/or reviewed over 75 keyboards the past couple of years I definitely hope I get a chance to check this one out soon. I'll update my review once I'm able to get another.
