Taste like my childhood memories remember. Some of the candy sheaths were damaged which led to hardening and tough chewing; still good.

I was in the mood for some licorice - red specifically as I'm not fond of anise - and bought this pack. I thought it seemed pricey for 15 pieces, but then the box arrived. I probably should have read the description more carefully. Or even the title, as it's written right there. Each piece is nearly three feet long. I got waaay more than I thought I would, and it wasn't too costly after all. It's a classic brand, so I knew what I was getting flavor and texture (important for licorice) wise. It was fresh, and like how each piece is individually wrapped. Now I can share it with the office, even in Covid times! Since each piece is so much - and more than I would have in a sitting, I cut up a rope into pieces and put it into a sandwich bag to keep it fresh even if I only want a few pieces. Bottom line, it's red rope, so if you're in the mood for that, this product will do the trick and you'll have lots to share!

They discontinued these during the pandemic, and then brought them back what... a couple years ago, I think? I used to eat these all the time. I am very, very familiar with the taste of them, as I've enjoyed them for decades. They 1,000,000% changed the recipe. They taste AWFUL now. It's been a while since I threw the entire box away after giving 2 or 3 a chance to change my mind, so I can't remember for sure... but they may have started using artificial sweeteners, or "natural" sweeteners (AKA garbage juice). Ever accidentally gotten hair spray mist in your mouth? Yeah, the aftertaste of these is similar. Don't believe all of these "positive" reviews. Don't waste your money. Just buy regular Red Vines. They're about as close as you'll get to the classic flavor of Super Ropes, which is disappointing, considering that the Red Vines company is who manufactures these.

Definitely not the old school ropes I had back in the day. So many things were better in the past. These seemed like a cheaper version of what they were 10-20 years ago. Thinner and a different texture.

I will be honest, as a kid, I hated these things. Whenever I bought them I would be so excited because of how good I thought it would be. Unfortunately, they would always be hard and rubbery and stale. I wasted good allowance at least twice a year. When my better half ordered these with hopes that they would be fresh for a change, I figured I would hope as well. Sure enough, they are fresh, and soft, and so good. Super rope is finally redeemed. I guess I can only order them directly if I want them in the future.
