Emerald 601MS Medium Soft Oboe Reed

Good product. As reeds go, good quality but oboe players will have to replace reed every few months so this has been a reliable place to find them.

My child just began oboe lessons and the reeds that came with the oboe did not last long. I admit, I know nothing about reeds and should have asked his teacher for advice, but I needed replacements quickly and so thought, how hard could it be to pick out a reed - right? I knew we needed a bamboo reed and not a plastic one. I picked this reed because I like green. This is NOT the recommended way to pick a reed! BUT, it turns out that our oboe teacher said it was what she would have recommended - based on quality and not color. Definitely order this reed. They are reasonably priced and arrived when promised. All were in perfect condition.

Fast shipping and exactly as described. I am only rating as I did because we had purchased in hopes that it might help my son who is learning the Oboe as some of the comments said it did with their children but he says its extremely hard to use and to get sound from. Were going back to our Jones reed.

This reed was bought by me and it came split. I needed a reed because mine was molding and found this one that looked good. But it was not! The tiny plastic package it came in was not enough. It was completely split and it looked as though someone had already used it. Not durable and no quality in the reed. Instant return! 1/5 stars would not recommend

This reed is getting me through community orchestra rehearsals, but it plays flat and has a thin sound. I will look elsewhere to find a reed for the concert.

This reed is so much better than ones I've bought elsewhere. Any parent with a kid who plays a wind instrument knows the pain of split reeds! This reed is durable and a good price. My son also says his band teacher has said the sound quality from this reed is good.

I have purchased many Oboe reeds for my son and this brand has been the best quality for the price. Very pleased with this item. If you are looking for an Oboe reed I highly recommend this brand.
