Whatever is in this grows grass like crazy.
I just received my third order of this product, over the past few months. I had a problem growing grass in an area that has a large clay base. Even after a ton of good topsoil, I could not sustain grass. I decided to mix this product with the topsoil-just a bit stronger, like a 50-50 ratio. I planted burmuda seed because of the high heat and sun the soil receives and lack of good drainage due to the large clay vein below it (that I ca do little about). In a week, just a week, the burmuda has sprouted. This burmuda usually take up to two weeks to sprout. I owe it to this product, of which I have used on my lawn in other places with great success. Also, I use it in my flower gardens (perennials mostly) and the plants seem to have a stronger moisture base around them. This moss definitely maintains a higher moisture base-if that is what you seek. And it promotes what I view as a much more enriched soil base. I love the stuff and highly recommend it. The bag contains a lot-this product spreads easily and covers a lot of ground. Buy it for what it does. It ain't cheap; It's just really good stuff.

Big bail of compressed Sphargum moss (Nutrient rich bog soil moss) for Better Price!
I mix the Sphargum w/bit it of vermiculite (holds in moisture. Hot (10b zone), along w/Perlite 4/drainage. I started w/miracle grow only, but the soil Hardened in all my pots-above ground planters boxes! So transplanted all w/Sphargum, add liquid Food-nutrients in the water. Great for seed (see cucumber pic), starting. Sphargum holds Nutrients and the water in much better then other soils & last forever, just feed, add more as needed.Love this stuff!

Peat moss for new lawn.
I used the peat to cover a seeded area of new lawn. It works great to hid seed from pigeons. I already have grass sprouts after a week. I don't have Pic but it's a really nice way to start a lawn. Peaceful and it's a easy way to make a beautiful back yard. 😉

To much sticks and chunks of debris!
I mean It's a great product don't get me wrong. But since I am using em for most of my worm bins/farm, I always have screen out sticks and other large debris with my screen sifter. So I gave it a 4 star rating just to be fair.

Good quality, expands a lot.
Exactly what I expected, if not more. I mixed it with some perlite and garden-tone, and after a few days I already have beautiful, healthy seedlings coming up. It expands a lot more than I expected, so this casual gardener will have plenty left for next year’s seedlings. I got some twigs but enjoyed sitting and pulling them out. The smell was quite nice.I also wanted to address a previous reviewer who insinuated that the cost here is much too high. I ordered this at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in the United States, and am unwilling to go into a crowded home improvement store. Some are simply unable to even in normal times. Although the shipping was listed as “free” it really never is. I received a package weighing 36 pounds or more, with dimensions exceeding 50”. As someone who ships packages regularly myself, I view the price that I paid as a bargain. I doubt the seller made as much of a profit on this as you would like to think.

Peat moss bales
NO its not light, weighs about 80 lbs. Yes, easy to work with, as long as you add perlite to it. has a natural acidic property to the soil, so nitrogen is great when seed starting. I use this stuff a LOT but due to lowes and home depot no longer stocking this product, it will cost you a LOT more than usual. Normally I would spend about $15 TOPS on this, but going up to $45/bale? RIDICULOUS GOUGING! But I had to get some as I need my gardening done this year due to upcoming famine. STOCK UP WHILE YOU CAN FOLKS--Food processing plants are all set on fire at some point, and burned down to the ground! Sooner or later, you either grow your own food or starve cause no canned foods, no frozen tv dinners and other things you normally get at the stores. Come July, you will worry about how to have a grill out with hamburgers when all the food processing plants are BURNED DOWN.

Do some price shopping
This product is fine but the price is 3x the price of it in big box garden/home stores and it was going to cost $21 to return it. Do some price shopping.
