One of the best science books I've ever read. Tons of knowledge. Tons of pictures, dates, quotes. It's definitely top 3 science books out there.

This book is beautiful, elegant, and full of knowledge. This book would be a wonderful addition to any home library or homeschool library! So much information and very well written.

This book covers up almost all scientific subjects. It's big and colourful. It explains everything in a balanced way. Worth to buy and have it!

Eine wahnsinnig tolle Bücherreihe von DK! Bei Wissensbüchern bleiben wir unbedingt bei diesem Verlag, haben mittlerweile mehr als acht Exemplare im Bücherregal. Da kann jeder noch was lernen. Die Illustrationen sind sehr schön und die Menge an Informationen ist überwältigend. Es macht Spaß, diese durch zu blättern.

An outstanding product revealing history of science

Great addition to the visual guides offered by DK. The pictures are of high quality and detail along with the accompanying information. Child really interested in picking it up and exploring more subjects seen or discussed during the day. Pages of good quality not likely to rip easily when handled. Good sturdy cover.

This book is simply fantastic. It ticks all the boxes – comprehensive, with clear explanations of even the most complex concepts and theories, superbly illustrated ,with great links among topics, enriched by fun facts about scientific discoveries and the lives of the key figures in the history of science – and more! It is exactly what I was after to “refresh” the basics of science learnt in high school that I realized I had for the most part forgotten. This book delivers on all fronts and is also pleasant to read cover to cover thanks to the fascinating way it presents the attempts of humankind to understand how the world works. It is also enriched by a large set of reference tables and diagrams, a science who’s who and a comprehensive glossary, alongside a detailed topic index. It really is a gem of a book that I highly recommend to all those people who, due to dull textbooks and/or boring teachers, didn’t get a passion for science in school and, decades on, forgot even the basics they had learnt in high school. I also strongly recommend the book to young boys and girls who are exploring career options … we do need more people in STEMM and this book’s fascinating and visually appealing approach has the power to sparkle an interest in pursuing science in secondary and tertiary education!
