Bostik Fix & Flash Strong Light-Activated Glue, Bonds 99.9% of Materials, Solvent Free, 3g Tube

My wife loves her pair of frameless spectacles. The particular model she has is no longer available so, when she needed a new prescription, she had the optician replace the lenses. That was fine - until, a few months later, the metal pins fixing the arm to the lense, broke. The optician was unable to repair it. With nothing to lose, I bought some Bostik Fix & Flash. I applied some - a little carelessly. It wiped off with ease, and without residue. Then I applied some with a more delicate touch, pushed the remaining stumps of the metal pins into the lense, and applied the UV light. It worked brilliantly - and immediately. Quite how long the repair will last, I've no idea. But, thus far, it seems absolutely rock solid. Very impressive.

This stuff is marvelous. I can't yet vouch for its strength and durability, but it scores 10 out of 10 for ease of use and versatility. I use a lot of superglue when making models, but it's behaviour is unpredictable, and you musn't get it on any plastic glazing because it leaves a white mist on the glass. This stuff doesn't seem to do that, and it dries straight away when exposed to the UV, whereas superglue can sometimes be very slow to dry.

I bought this to do some crafting with sea glass. Specifically sticking it to some drift wood. I've been very impressed at this system of using light activated glue...and it sets so quickly. Just apply a drop of the glue press the two parts together and shine the light on the area where the glue is...within seconds it's bonded and bonded strongly. So easy to apply, but like any strong/super glue keep fingers away. Good value for money and the bottle seals easily to be used again...so good value for money. I would definitely buy again.

Used this to repair a broken hinge on a vintage portable computer ( HP LX200 ). Applied a tiny drop , held the two parts together , used the UV torch for 10 seconds. The break was fully repaired , I’d suggest the repair was stronger than the original plastic. Have also used this to reattach a tiny broken plastic tab on another vintage laptop - I had no hope that such a tiny plastic part would hold - but it did - and again solid. Have now just used this to repair a magnesium alloy component and again it was perfect. If you have ever found that superglue was really not “super” - this will please you.

The glue worked well but a few weeks later the remaining glue in the tube had set hard. Would buy again

If you're working with transparent materials that need to be moved around and place prior to the glue hardening this could be for you. Get everything in position, then illuminate with the UV (ultraviolet light) and then the glue will harden.

I’d wanted to try this for a while. It’s honestly revolutionised my repairing abilities. Being about as patient as a three year old that wants ice cream, I found this to be extremely quick for repairs. So far it’s holding well.

I kinda like this. The glue just has to be on a spot where the light can shine on it, or you will have to wait.

Quick and easy to use. The uv light works instantly.
