I don't know about being a good calf sling, but it works great on Nubian goats.

Works perfectly! Good size, fits all our small and slightly larger lambs just fine. Durable, strong and holds them steady.

I don't have a video to put on this computer of my husband and son trying to hoist my goats up to trim their hoofs. They actually did not put this hoist on correctly, so each one of the goats slipped out either from the front or the back. Needless to say, they ended up trimming the old way that was a pain in the rear axle. There was no paper to explain how to put the hoist on the animal at all. So I came inside and looked it up on the computer to show them how to use it the next time. I know that it is going to help them this time. Great price for the nice quality of the item.

Bought this to use on baby goats to ease hoof trimming stress. Rated to 200lbs. Used it one time on a 55lb mild mannered, leash traind goat. While lifting, the chest and back straps tore away from mesh, D-rings spread, sling itself bunched up around the goat's waist and goat fell on head and neck. Not only stunned the goat but we were concerned she broke her neck. Definitely would not reccommend nor use on anything. So much for less stress.
