A High-Quality/Low-Priced Beast
I LOVE these Chesters! I wanted a budget, sleek, stylish, high-quality MTB pedals for awhile. I did my research and landed on the Chesters. These things have been around for awhile and have a good reputation. They are very attractive and offer good longevity for the price, which makes this purchase a high-value one. I put these on my Marlin 5 because I didn't like the factory pedals whose nubs are plastic and molded into the pedal. The chester's have steel bolts that pass through the pedal and offer a super secure grip on my skateboard shoes. I don't wear special shopes for MTB'ing, nor am I going to buy some. So these pedals fit the bill. They grip super tight on my slick skateboard shoes and I feel very secure on them. I love the matte black color too. What's cool is that you can buy these in a bunch of different colors. they aren't painted, so the color will not wear off if you scuff the pedals on curbs. I've had them for over a year now and they've been 100% reliable on both dirt, street and mud. Very happy with my purchase. Only caveat: they do not freely rotate as well as other pedals do. The more expensive pedals will freely rotate and spin for days. These will give you about 1.5-2 rotations before the friction halts their spin. Listen...this is not a problem on MTB or regular street bikes. Your not gonna notice it and it's not dangerous. This would only effect efficiency on long-distance road biking, and if your doing that, you would never buy a Chester anyway, so it's a moot point. These are the cheapest and highest quality pedals your gonna find. Cheaper than this, your buying garbage quality... more expensive than this, and your wasting your money.

Great Pedals!
These pedals are well made and definitely worth the money. I had watched a few YouTube videos comparing these to the Fookers and decided to go with the Race Face Chesters due to better sealing on these (from what I saw in the video). They fit perfectly and provide a great grip when riding. Highly recommend.

Very grippy and smooth spinning
These do improve the ride. It's a long pedal (running the length of the foot, not the width) so you have more surface area to press down on. I found my feet felt better after a long ride just because of that. I don't have to put all my weight on the ball of my foot if I don't want to. I can spread the weight across more of my foot as needed.I also have really wide feet and the width of the pedal was good enough that the side of my foot isn't hanging off the edge. As far as the grip pins, they hold really well. My favorite biking shoe is old sneakers. Nice and broken in so they are super comfortable. But that also usually means the tread is worn flat. Even with no tread on my rubber soles shoes these pins help my feet in place firmly. But they don't prevent you from easily lifting your foot up and getting off the pedals quickly. They just keep your feet from sliding forward or side to side. So you're not wearing your foot muscles out by constantly adjusting to stay on the pedal, and when you want to get off the bike in a hurry your foot still lifts right off. I did try a few different pairs of shoes. Softer rubber grips these much better than harder rubber. So your grip experience my vary depending on the shoes you're wearing. I wouldn't suggest foam cushioned shoes though (the newer kind with the durable foam but really soft soles) I think the pins would destroy those in a hurry. My first ride on these the day after I put them on ended up being in the rain. (Lucky me!) Even when thoroughly wet I didn't lose any traction on these. The bearings are good. They rotate very smooth with no grinding feel at all like you get on cheaper pedals. It's a nice clean action. And the bears don't provide much resistance that adds to the energy needed to pedal. The only thing I'm not in love with is the plastic piece in the center covering the center axle. There are no pins on that part so that's a slippery part in the middle of the pedal. I may wrap a small piece of grip tape around the center just to add a little friction there. It's not a huge deal at all. But I could notice it. It should be molded with a diamond cut pattern in the center if there are no pins. But this is very very minor. It'd be nice to have traction in the middle for those times when you lift your foot off the pins and don't set it down quite perfectly. All in all I really like them. Worth every penny.

strong ,durable, very gripy to the shoe
Great pedal seem very strong. insane amount of grip.great price compared to other high end pedals . got em in black so they don't show dirt or look foolish with vibrant colors . My only con with these is there is a slight resistance to the pedals spin. I hear you can adjust the bearing play in the pedal but I havnt yet . put em on out the box and they are so good over the last 3 months of heavy trail riding.smashing over rocks and pins are still there. chesters have enabled me to ride stuff i was not able to on my older worn out pedals. for the price might as well get a fresh pair every season. highly recomended over high price pedal because theres no need to throw good money away if you dont have to

Good pedals
I’ve only had them a few days and they are great. I’ll update in a few months. Plenty of room for your feet. They hold them down with the studs well enough.

Brilliant pedals with loads of grip! Just don't hit your shins if you can help it! They look good and ride good, pins sadly do get a little rusty, maybe aluminium pins would be better, but other than this i cant fault them.
