Q: Can I bring an auto Auto Alexa and satellite radio to this and then out to my aux plug and use both?

Hello Mean Mr. Mustard! You could bring the Auto Alexa and a Satellite radio to this audio switch using the "I" and ""I" jacks as inputs. But, you could only send one of then at a time into the aux plug. You would not be able to send both the Alexa and radio out this switch at the same time. For that you would need an audio mixer if you wanted to hear them together at the same time. If you wanted to hear one or the other by itself, then you could use this switch.

Q: Ok for PC sound out to either 1) PC external speakers 2) guitar amp?

After carefully thinking about it, no it's not likely to work with a guitar amplifier. The PC output and this switching box are both 1/8" plugs and stereo (output and input) whereas the guitar amp is a 1/4" plug and mono. You can get an adapter for the guitar amp to drop the plug size down to 1/8" but the absence of the 3rd contact on the plug may create a short. If you look at the plug for the computer speakers you'll notice that it has 2 plastic lines separating the 3 contact points (Left+, Right+ common-) but the guitar cord plug only has 1 plastic separating line because it only has 2 contact points (+/-). This is because an electric guitar doesn't play in stereo so the amp doesn't receive a stereo signal. IF you are a creative person with basic electrical knowledge you could buy a 1/8" (3 contact) plug and a 1/4" (2 contact) plug and solder a piece of speaker wire between them and only use two of the solder points on the 1/8" 3 contact plug but this will only give you a mono output but If your PC has a mono setting that would work and you could use this switching box. I hope this helps.

Q: I built my own version but I am getting a loud pop when I switch between sources. Is there any buffering circuitry inside that would ameliorate this?

Hello Graydon! For the switch you built, I would suggest you try to implement some kind of circuit where each signal line is connected to ground with a high value resistor, like 20K or greater. You may need to do it on both sides of the switch. I hope this helps! -Clark

Hello Robert! This switch just has the input and output ports only. They are the common 3.5mm (1/8") size. It does not have any cords or cables attached to it. This way you can order the exact type and length of cables you'll need to connect it to your system. I hope this helps Robert! -Clark
