Don't think, just do.
I was having issues with shifting on my old SRAM XX1 cabled system, I was going to clean it up, change the cable, lubricate, etc. Well, turns out after 7000 miles it was totally worn out.. I guess I need to maintain my bikes better lol. Even the cassette was trashed. Anyway, decided to try the AXS system - GAME CHANGER. Believe the hype - it's as good as anyone has said it is. Wow, crisp shifts - even under hard climbs, NO SKIPS, and near silent operation. I am excited to ride my bike again. Absolutely blown away. Yes, the price is steep - especially if you get the XX1 Cassette & Chain like I did - but SO worth it. If you have the cash, don't think... just do !!

Solid shifting, EVERY TIME.
I have ridden MTB’s for about 35 years, ride about 6k miles annually, and race. I have ridden more shifting systems than I can count. Not a single one has ever come close to SRAM AXS shifting speed and reliability. Yes, you have to remember to charge a battery. No, you will never have to change a cable or drop out of a race due to cable failure again. Battery life by the way, seems excellent. I recently did a stage race (Pikes Peak Apex) and forgot to charge between days 2 and 3 (probably about 7 hours riding total on those days), and had zero issues. If you do marathon racing, carrying an extra or having crew with a fully charged one should not be an issue, and I would take the reliability of AXS any day, especially in longer events.
