This is an excellent product! Building instructions were very clear. Assembled, the unit is sturdy. It has adjustable "feet" so you can accommodate for unlevel floors. The unit is quite heavy--67 pounds so I needed some help to get it into my house. The package delivered to me arrived with one of the panels mislabeled at the factory and the manufacturer made things right without a hassle. In fact, as they didn't have a panel by itself to send, they sent another full shelving unit.

Please read this to help with installation and address some of the one star reviews.This is a good quality bookshelf, certainly a solid notch above the entry-level bookshelves. The shelves are nice and heavy and strong to support heavier books without sagging over time. Even though there are two sections to this, once installed, it is very sturdy.It came in good packaging. It’s a heavy package but easy to open and then carry pieces to where you want to set-up. Installation was quick and easy and straightforward (except for one step, see below).The installation manual is simple but not very detailed, and I’ve read some of the one star reviews complaining about the holes being too big. This is because the “three-in-one” connectors are not being installed properly. You need to screw these connectors in with a screwdriver, which then expands the plastic pieces to fit the hole snugly and securely (similar to a plastic drywall anchor). You do not need super glue or gorilla glue as some people have mentioned. Please see the video for this in action. I hope this helps others out there with the proper installation of this bookshelf.Once installed properly, this bookshelf is sturdy and solid. For the money and where this product sits in the price-performance spectrum, this is a good value bookshelf.

So, I bought two of the 4-layer models in cherry color. They were delivered by FedEx. I was not happy with the delivery, because FedEx left the two boxes on my driveway in snow and sleet. I didn't realize it until hours later. Even though the boxes were soaked and frozen, the content inside was fine. I let everything dry overnight before assembling. The assembly of the first bookshelf was challenging. The hardest part was sliding the back board in. If you follow the instructions, there was just no way. Friction got in the way. There was just no way to push a thin layer of MDF through the entire length of tightly fitted tracks. Having realized this, I deviated from the installation instructions. The trick to success was to slide in the back board BEFORE tightening everything down. In fact, I didn't even install the bottom shelf until after the back board was in place. Needless to say, the assembly of my second unit went much faster. The book shelves look pretty nice. They are sturdy. For the price, they exceeded my expectation. I also like how they have leveling legs. That came in very handy for placing my two units side-by-side on an uneven floor. I did not use the wall anchor, so I can't comment on that. In all, I am happy with this purchase.

This is a good sturdy bookshelf for the price. I have a ton of children’s books that I was afraid would not fit the smaller 4 shelf option. I bought the 5 shelf option and the shelves are deep and tall giving me plenty of space for two tubs full of children’s books to go on. It did not take up an unruly amount of space in my kids room and my husband assembled in about an hour. All the parts were in it and it was not damaged on delivery because it was packed well.

This is one of the worst products I've bought on Amazon. The separate parts look nice enough, and seem to be solidly made. But that's where the positives end. It was a nightmare to put together. Not because the directions were very hard to follow, but because the connectors don't stay connected. As you are putting it together, and trying to align different pieces, they start to come separated. So everything is coming apart as you are assembling it, making one side fall apart as you are working on another. The directions state not to tighten everything until it's basically put together, so I thought that might be the issue. But when I tightened the "screws", that didn't make a difference. I would have returned it, but the process of trying to put all of it back in the box and return it was daunting, especially since everything is so heavy. I also need very specific dimensions to fit in a corner, which are hard to find. I finally managed to get it upright against a wall, very loosely assembled. The only things holding it together are the weight of the books and the fact that it is propped against a wall. And there is still a gap between the middle shelf and the top part of the bookcase, so it looks cheap too. I've had similar pieces in the past from Ikea and Target, for a fraction of the cost, and never had such problems. Extremely disappointing!

I have just finished building two of these bookcases and I am very satisfied with both the experience and the finished product. The packaging provides excellent protection and there was no shipping damage. There were NO missing parts. The instructions are sparse, but accurate. Follow them exactly and take your time. A rubber mallet is a handy helper. The numbering stickers are a pain to get off and I recommend Goo Gone for this job. The melamine finish is much tougher than paint or other soft coatings. The finished bookcase is quite nice looking and should last a very long time..
