I love this book. It's so important to teach kids life skills. You do need to purchase materials for each lesson. Every child should learn these skills.

Lots of fun ideas

I am currently using this book to raise my inner child.Because my inner child was never allowed to grow up.I was a parentified child so my responsibility was for my mother. Now I am teaching myself things as if if I were my own child and I am using this book and it is amazing. Granted, because I'm an adult, I do know some of these things already.However, there's so much I didn't know.And have grateful that this book exists and believe that every child should have a copy and a parent or guardian who would help them achieve all these activities

This book is going to a great addition to our 7th and 9th grade year. I have a child who is ASD and a child who greatly wants to be dependent and do all of the things in this book. We can’t wait to do it! When I first heard about the book I thought it would be great just for just my ASD child. But, honestly, this book would even be good for young and older adults who never got to learn these things. It hits on every skill thoroughly enough that you can learn it very quickly. We are very excited to add this book onto our school year!

covers the basic life skills everyone needs! laundry, first aid, etc. Appropriate for ten and up. Can be used in coordination with homeschooling and Christian leadership programs.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I am disappointed that it doesn't actually teach any of these skills, but directs the student to research them on their own using "parent approved websites" (which are not included, BTW, that's something you'll need to furnish yourselves) or library books. On one hand there is tremendous value in teaching our kids HOW TO LEARN how to do something they want to do. Great! For that reason I am considering giving it a try. Another reason why I am a bit disappointed is that it seems more appropriate for elementary kids than middle or high schoolers. Based on the description and some of the reviews I was expecting a bit more from it and feel the need to continue looking for something more appropriate for my 14 and 16 yr old.

Great for teaching life skills and my children have really enjoyed it!

Fantastic activity book that prompts the user to research and learn about 36 different life skills. Huge variety of topics. Inside it says "This book is designed to teach you many valuable life skills. Search for the information about each skill but make sure that you also practice what you have learned!" Although useful for so many, I think especially helpful for kids that may be developmentally a bit behind such and/or have ASD, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, etc..
