I bought my copy of Ben Petersons book in late August on Amazon. Thanks! I've had time now to compare it against the other 34 books, papers and pdf down loads in my woodgas collection. These range from 1907 to 2012 originally published. Only maybe three of these could you actually a complete system build from. And two of those three are also pay-for and they are only direct purchasable. The third a gov'mint "free" is literally a trash can system. This book has more step by step pictures in it than any three other publications of mine combined. This books system the widest size range of IC engine usability of them all. And this design addresses the limitations points in traditional designs. This will be very THERMALchemically balanced with it's three layers of insulations. Has Drop-in replaceable parts. NO Cones. NO range use limiting cyclone. Has a unique char gentle conserving active grate system. And a "majic box" four purpose heat/recycler fuel/economizer side box postulated but not done since 1974, and ~1944 pevious. It's a very interesting book, maybe would be more difficult to built this unit but at least steps to achieve it are well explained

well since i weld professionally i find this book vary easy to follow i would like to see some welding blueprints or at least a diagram for the welds but other then that its a good book so far

A "Bible" on the subject would explain theory of operation and give enough engineering details to allow a person to design / build their own unit. This is an assembly manual for ONE approach with an allowance for some customization. What it does, it does well, but let's not get carried away with out description, please.

Very informative book

This is nothing but a step by step instruction manual. None of the science is explained. Watch some youtube videos and you get the same info. Save your money!!!!!!

I've followed Ben for almost 10 years thru his YouTube channel and seen his development in gasification. The determination he has is truly inspiring. Ben Peterson is a pioneer in this topic and I have come to uphold his knowledge as a benchmark. People often ask me about woodgas and I always send them to his channel for further research once I have exhausted my own advice. Now, with this book in hand I'll have physical references and pictures to explain the woodgas life. This book will always be in my possession once my gasifier is built. (I'm building mine to be trailered behind a 1989 Toyota Camry and running my Miller trailblazer) It's like a Chilton's Manual that will easily have grease smudges on every page from dirty hands thumbing thru it. And that's to be expected when you'll use it as woodgas gospel. I just pre-ordered the second volume of his book a few days ago. Keep them coming Ben!

Its a very good book at last to direct you in the right direction compared to FEMA . It make gasification friendly to anybody who's interested in it. The only downside is that the measurement are all in inches , maybe , Ben didn't intended to sale is book outside USA.

This book helped my husband diagnose what he did wrong on his first build. I see him reading it at night and it's usually tough to get him to pick up a book.

Good book but it's not a bible on the subject. It's really a set of plans to build what looks like a very professional looking good sized gasifier but there's no history or chemistry or storage or use of gasification, so it's far from the bible on the subject. So in short, it's a good set of plans with a misleading title.
