Game Changer
We have bought this multiple times and it always works great!! This has been a game changer for us, we have a lot of mulch throughout our yard and this has helped us cut down on how much we buy every year. The color matches perfectly to the mulch we use, it’s super easy to spray (we mix it in a tank sprayer), seems to dry quickly and will last for a long time ( well in the shade longer than in the sun). We have used it to brighten up sun damaged mulch and mulch that we have added that was never colored and it works great on both.

Easy to use, great results.
First, some background: I'm helping a friend who returned to her residence, a duplex, after several years. A family member lives in the other side of the duplex and did a number on both yards during my friend's absence by layering landscape fabric, wood chips, waterproof tarp, another layer of wood chips, more waterproof tarp, more wood chips until both yards have approximately 6 inches of bark and tarp! Since the tarp went right up to the base of trees and shrubs and was covered in wood chips the trees and shrubs were slowly dieing because of lack of water. Most of this has now been removed and MulchWorx gave life to those old wood chips! I used it all over the yard and while it does not wear well in walkways I recommend this product in beds! I have never seen anything like it! I would use it again all over the yard because it was in such pitiful shape that MulchWorx was like a ray of sunshine on a gloom day!

This is an excellent product … Tremendous
Okay, so I spent $200 on Dark Brown Mulch and within 3 days, it looked like hay. Wife saw this dye on an instagram post. I ordered the 32oz. Reading the other reviews, I went out and bought a $14.99 1.5 gal sprayer at Tractor Supply figuring I was going to throw it out when I was done. I’ll try to help with the Trail and Error which took me 20 mins. I poured about 3oz in the sprayer and then a little over a gal of water. Do Not use a hose nozzle to fill, fill it from the spout cause it will splash all over you and your clothes are done. I started to spray and had to adjust the nozzle. Once I got the perfect spray pattern I continued and while doing so I saw that it was actually working, covering the light mulch and I was very impressed. I did this in the sun and it dried in 15 mins. Medium coat spraying back and forth, overlapping. As you can see in the pics, it worked well and changed the color dramatically. I will update after a few days to see if the color stays or if I have to do another coat (hopefully not) Took apart the sprayer and washed all the dye so I can use it again. Used Dawn Blue to get the dye off my fingers. 5-25-24 TREMENDOUS buy it. Last photo is 20 mins ago

Helpful hints after second dye application
My first application 1 month ago was followed by a week of torential rain, but most of the dye held despite less than 24 hr dry time and only one coat (see first review below). It's definitely a learning process. Today, I applied a second coat of dye to revive color lost to the rain. I have a huge mulch area, and today's application went on with no clogging or mess- 2 hours start to finish. Helpful hints: 1. Mix dye & water in a 5 gallon bucket. Mix well with a clean stir stick, THEN pour that mixture into the sprayer. Do not add dye directly to sprayer-clogs! 2. Have several buckets of clean water and one bucket of soapy water. When refilling the sprayer, keep the nozzle of the sprayer soaking for a few minutes in a bucket of clean water, swishing it around a bit- I used "fan" choice on nozzle of sprayer & it covered quick with great control. 3. Soapy water is for your hands & accidental spray on siding (it happens despite being extra careful). Old wet towel handy helps too. Extra buckets of clean water to wash dye off outside of sprayer so you dont have to keep turning on the hose with messy hands. I wore gloves first time; didnt need at all this time. 4. As you spray, occasionally shake the sprayer to keep dye distributed well in the water- dye will settle thicker in bottom of sprayer resulting in uneven color if you dont shake as you go. 5. The brown is a deep, dark cocoa brown. I mixed a tad of the red with the brown resulting in a more pine bark mulch color. I highly recommend this product if you have a super picky HOA like mine. You will get stares from your neighbors as you apply it, lol. My attached photos make the color look a bit blotchy, but it's not...some areas were still wet. 1st application: Color was a deep, dark brown - I had to top it with spreading pine bark mulch, throwing handfuls like confetti (to escape HOA walk-up inspection). Sprayer clogged frequently, but some shaking as I went and frequent soaking sprayer nozzle in clean water seemed to help. Very messy, but if prepared over a grassy area, easy to soak any spilled dye into grass with hose. Not sure on durability of color. We are due for a week of heavy rain after only a 24 hour dry period, so we'll see. Fingers crossed the color stays as we have daily HOA inspections of all yards...crazy, yes, I'm moving soon. I highly recommend the product and will use again. I am very pleased with the results.

Key instructions
The key to usimg this product is have a funnel when puting the product in the pump sprayer. This will make clean-up a lot easier. You also need to mix it up really well. It should be of a thick consistency when using. Also shake your pump often to ensure a good mix. I found this out the hard way. However, once I got going the result were very good. I put down some new mulch where I had lost some due to blowing leaves off the mulch last fall. Once done with the dye, you could not tell the difference from the old and new. Instead of buying 35 bags of new this year, I bought only 10.

Very disappointed!
Very disappointed in this product. Followed the instructions and when finished it does look good. Used mulch glue after as directed. However, anything walks on it or just a little rain turns mulch pieces over or rinsed out color. If you some how could tumble the mulch and color it would be better.

I recently used the 2,800 Sq. Ft. Rich Dark Brown Mulch Dye, and it has made a remarkable difference in my garden. Here's why I give it five stars: Pros: Rich Color: The dark brown dye is incredibly vibrant and natural-looking. It rejuvenated my faded mulch, giving my garden beds a fresh and well-maintained appearance. Easy Application: The dye is easy to mix and apply with a garden sprayer. The instructions were clear, and I was able to cover a large area efficiently. Long-Lasting: The color has held up well against weather conditions, retaining its richness and not washing away after rain or irrigation. Cost-Effective: One container covered a substantial area (2,800 sq. ft.), making it a cost-effective solution for maintaining a polished garden look. Eco-Friendly: The dye is non-toxic and safe for plants, pets, and the environment. I felt comfortable using it around my entire garden. Cons: Initial Drying Time: It takes a little while to dry completely, so it's best to avoid foot traffic in the treated area until it's fully set. Staining Potential: The dye can stain hands and clothing, so wearing gloves and old clothes during application is advisable. Overall: The 2,800 Sq. Ft. Rich Dark Brown Mulch Dye is a fantastic product for anyone looking to refresh and enhance the appearance of their garden. Its rich color, easy application, and long-lasting effects make it a standout choice. I highly recommend it for maintaining a beautiful and vibrant garden.

The dye worked as it should and was easy to mix and apply. We found it looked more like solid stain or paint than we wanted for the yard. A little bit of raking turned it over so it wasn't a permanent mistake. Not my thing and won't use the rest of the bottle.

Much smaller bottle than expected. I was expecting one double the size for the $32 price tag. If I chose to keep this I will update my review on the quality of the product.
