Needed this to upgrade my graphics card instead of buying a new power supply, works amazing, priced very well, shipped quickly, great quality, only downside is that its ugly so if you need it for somethijg vidually appealing you might want to reconsider, other than thag the wire was great and fit perfectly, easy installation.

I have a Dell XPS 8940 that only has a 360W power supply. I wanted to upgrade my graphics card without upgrading my PSU (power supply unit) but options were pretty limited for what card I could power. My system came with a GTX 1660S which has a pretty small power requirement and the newest card I could find with a similar power requirement was the RTX 4060. It's basically twice as powerful with the same power draw. One problem. I only have a 6 pin power connection. After researching I found this product and thought I'd give it a shot. It worked perfectly! It's not the prettiest cable but you can't see it in my stock dell case. Seems very sturdy as well and again, it works. Not sure how great it is with a card with higher power requirements but it was perfect for me. 5 stars.

This did what it needed to do! I was upgrading my GPU and it requires an 8-pin power cable, and while my 500W power supply (older PC) has an 8-pin, it is feeding the motherboard, so I needed to use one of the available 6-pin and this adapter made it work perfectly.

If you are looking for something like this, it's because you are getting ready to jump to a new video card. That's eaxctly what happened to me. I just bought a Radeon 6970 HD, which is a fantastic GPU (video card), but consumes quite a lot of energy. Thankfully I had a 730w PSU (power source) which had been a blessing with my older vid cards. The new GPUs requiere either 1 or 2 8pin connectors form the PSU. I rather tried this one out instead of having to buy a new PSU, since I had one that was enough to cover my energy needs. I have had the GPU for several weeks, and havent had a problem. This adapter worked wonders and has saved me to drop about a hundred bucks. I dont intend to make this a permanent situation and buy a new PSU soon, but this is a nice thing to have if you dont have a lot of money and need to change both PSU and GPU. It works as advertised, thats why I give it a 5 star rating

I just recently bought myself a EVGA GTX 680 Graphics Card. When I got it I was saddened by the fact it needed 8-pins since my old 680W power supply only had PCI 6-pin cable. I was really thinking my only option was to buy a whole other power supply which would of costed me another $90+. I started searching around for 8-pin power supplies until I found this item. Luckily enough it was a 6 to 8-pin adapter which is what I needed. I was kind of skeptical at first thinking this might be too good to be true, but I bought 2 just to give it a shot. Amazingly it worked, fit snug right into the previous 6-pin cables. No more errors on my screen saying I need to insert proper PCI-e power cables. Great product, I'm glad I found this.

Does what it says, but all the connections are so loose that it is tough to get connected. One wire actually popped out during connection! Once in place, it did what it was supposed to.

really nice cable tie, nice cable protection too. It has been working well without any issues, the only thing that bothers me is that the cables are kinda far away from the connection, i don't know if i can explain myself correctly, it just seems like a minor design flaw, but it doesn't seem to affect it. This is the best company for PC components from amazon i guarantee that.

Originally purchased because I had a HP Z800 workstation that I wanted to install a GTX 1660 into. Issue because that the 1660 took a different set of input pins. My Z800 definitely had the PSU capable of handling a 1660 (it is roughly 1200W) so I just needed to find an adaptor pin. Luckily stumbled up on this and the rest is history. Have been using this cable now for over 2 years and besides the bottlenecking that the CPU is doing, the GPU has performed very well. All monitored seem to demonstrate that the card is adequately powered. So great cable, buy with confidence (if this is what you need for your purposes).

Works as advertised

I recently upgraded the graphics card in our main gaming system to an AMD Radeon RX 570. This is the first graphics card I've purchased that necessitates an 8-pin PCI-e power connector. If you look at build guides and articles online about building a "gaming system", most of them will advise that you buy a 500+ watt power supply. In my case, I have a 400 watt power supply from Silverstone that's 80 Plus certified... it's issue was that it only had a 6-pin PCI-e connector. So, do I replace the Power Supply or buy this adapter? Thankfully, I bought this adapter and everything works perfectly. While gaming, my system (Quad Core Intel i5, 8GB DDR3, SSD + HDD, RX 570) hits about 250 watts. Your current power supply will probably be fine... just buy this adapter. Recommended!

Misleading product!! Am i the only one who saw that the dimensions are fake? Its say on the description 20 x 1.2 x 21.5 cm; 18.1 g But it’s pretty much the half of that. I specifically took this cable because the dimensions were good ... in any case it is not very serious but if the cable was really of the right dimension as indicated I would not have had to undo all my case to adapt it ... And by the way you can find some 2 pack cables for the same price and i guess the same dimension so I have a little bitter taste in my mouth.
