Love this baseplate!
It’s excellent for mounting your cameras to rails. I use this for my Sony a6400 and Sony FX30 cameras. You don’t need a cage to mount your cameras to the base plate but I recommend using SmallRig cages for your cameras to mount to this base plate so that you can mount external monitors or mics to the cage easily. Also mounting side grips or focus pulleys to the cage

If you are getting this, do a little finding on how you're gonna use it first
This is solid but then iF you Think you just get rods N then attach your camera N start shooting then think twice...if you are getting this, then you also need a quick release plate to make your life easy...otherwise you have to get all those screws lose just to access the system N get your camera off it.. That a waste of so much time....if you wish to build a rig out of this, get a quick release plate so the slider goes to your camera N the plate stays permanently on then.... N then may b another slider to add underneath this just so you can use your rig on a tripod.....for this reason, I think it's expensive considering you can almost get an affordable rig from film city for under a hundred dollars...

Great build.
Only reporting my thoughts on the quality of this item sense I didn’t get a chance to use it because I ordered the wrong item. I will say the quality was fantastic. All metal and very well built.

Very Happy Customer - For Canon XC10 Review
Love it. You won't go wrong. Just two gripes, the base place is too small to mount an XC10 without first adding a quick release. Which means, you can't mount a large camera without getting a quick release, which sucks for me because now I need to wait to buy the quick release before I can attach my follow focus. This should work if you're using a DSLR or mirrorless to shoot video....lol. I digress. Again, just wish I knew in advance the base would be too small for my camera so I could have ordered the quick release first, instead of now, not being able to mount my camera because I bought out of order. Anyway. That's my rant and I'm sticking to it. Buy this, you will not regret it. I myself will keep being their customer for a long as they keep putting out quality products like they are now.

Didn't damage, drop, scratch or do anything else harmful to the piece of crap. Just screwed it to the cage once. It seems that's enough for it to break. Between this and the piece of crap excuses smallrig make for atomos monitor mounts, seems like what I was told was right and that Tilta & Neweer are the superior brands.
